Why do we get wisdom teeth if we're supposed to have them removed?

and the intense water spraying method that I feel is used out of laziness and does not do as good a job. The dentist told me it does a BETTER job, so I would appreciate the real scoop from those who aren't taking the easy way out. I want to know which is the most through, etc. And what the pros and cons are-thanks

On my front, top tooth, the one to the left of the front too (my left) has a cavity in the top of this tooth right by the gumline. It's just like a small pinhole, but a small area of the enamel around it looks different, like whiter than the rest of the tooth.

I went through a period of depression a year or so ago, and didn't care for my teeth properly, and haven't been to the dentist in a couple of years either.
But for the past 3 months or so, I've been brushing alteast 4 times a day, and now the majority of my teeth are white whereas they were yellow.

I'm terrified to go to the dentist, (and don't currently have one), but I'll just have to go.

I'm just wondering how this would be filled. Obviously the procedure would be different from filling a molar, and I'm not going to want a black dot on the front of my tooth. Also, I assume the tooth wouldn't be smooth after this either.

Would the procedure hurt much, as it's right next to the gumline?

Thanks in advance.

You paid your orthodontist for your braces; do you have to pay another one? Are you doomed to wear braces for the rest of your life? Can you take them off with pliers and household supplies yourself and melt the metal to construct expensive jewelry?

(And no, this did not happen to me! My braces were removed long ago!)

The permanent tooth was lodged in my palate, the dentist removed it via small surgery. The baby teeth feels weird since the surgery! Do you think it will fall out?? And if it does what are my options?

I got my wisdom tooth pulled a week ago and there was complications with the nerve. Now all of the swelling is gone except for a hard lump on my jaw about the size of a penny.

dentists(who all seem to have nice cars and houses and lots of reception staff stood yapping)say they cant afford to do nhs work.why dont we use market forces and stop going for 12 months(except kiddies and emergencies)and see how long it takes for them to suddenly be able to afford to treat us poor nhs types when the private treatment mony stops rolling in!

i have this big tooth right smack behind my top back molars. it's been bugging me for the last few years now but i haven't gotten the chance to go to a dentist to check it out. i've had this tooth ever since childhood. i could've had it taken out but i was too afraid of the pain then. now as i'm getting older it's been bothering me and i want it pulled out. i'll be recieving dental insurance through my work place and i want to know how much this will cost. this is the first thing i want to fix before everything else. can anyone one tell me the cost of this?

He worked long on "desentizing molar" after anesthetic. Kept rubbing and rubbing it hard. Then he covered it with amalgam and cured it with light.Tried to place perm bridge on,,,,bite way off! Unsuccessful, so he put old temp back on. Says if I still have pain by Monday, I can decide on root canal. Presently it still hurts when I chew on it. Very afraid! Anesthetic on this tooth has not worked well. He does not put people to sleep or drug them.Says he must take new impressions and have new perm bridge made since one he tried didn't fit .He could place new bridge on sore tooth and hope for best, or I can have him canal it (with pain) hoping this will cure pain while chewing on this tooth. No gaurantees.Tooth is not infected or problem other than being sensitive when I chew on it.Help!!! Help!!! What should I do? I want this resolved as quickly as possible. Should I give tooth more time or canal the damn thing?I can not tell you the stress and suffering this has caused. Opinions?? Please

Ok, I know the best thing for bad breath is brushing your teeth, but my friend says she can't get rid of her sick @ss breath. She said she's tried drinking more water, she flosses, brushes her teeth, and she sees the dentist regularly, she says to add that she has changed her diet, like cut down on sweets. Does anyone have advice for her??

He told me to switch to a soft toothbrush and brush in circular motion instead of back and forth. Is my tooth going to fall out of my head. What is a soft toothbrush supposed to do. Everytime I touch that spot, it sends an uncomfortable pain thru my tooth.
