I got my wisdom tooth pulled a week ago and there was complications with the nerve. Now all of the swelling is gone except for a hard lump on my jaw about the size of a penny.

From what you're telling us here, it sounds like you may be healing just fine. Sometimes it takes several weeks before ALL the swelling subsides, depending on how in depth the surgery was. If you are truly concerned, I advise you make a quick call to the surgeon... he/she will be able to answer this question best since they are familure with your case. However, if you are more curious than concerned... Then I would advise you post this question to Dr. Maroon on www.smilemakeoverdocs.com 's forum. He will be able to give an accurate and unbiased opinion on what your describe to him.

I would go back to your oral surgeon for a follow up especially if you have complications to begin with, it could be infection best to get it checked out.

don't panic.. I was in the same situation... it's just your lymph node.. mine took about 3 weeks to go down... strange, I know, but it's completly normal

Sounds like dried blood.
You will have to go back.
