I am worried because they are so expensive and have heard stories of them continually falling out and lots of back-up surgery required. Any one have any first-hand knowledge?

Also, where her tooth was, there is what looks like a very small piece of gum tissue hanging down. It's like that was what filled the hole in the tooth. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone, but advice would be helpful!
There was no cavity (recent checkup) and no discoloration.

So far, I have used Crest night Effects, Crest Whitstrips and Crest Total White. I brush morning and night after meals, and also use Listerine mouthwash with whitenol* and Reach whitening toothbrush. I have had dramatic effects but it seems they have hit a plateau. My goal would be eggshell white. How can I acheive this without turning to expensive laser whitening treatments and DaVinci Veneers?
*Whitenol: I have no clue if that even means something.

My friend has bad teeth. I know that you can check an animals health by checking their teeth. So I told him that having bad teeth could signal bad health. He doesn't believe me. I know that we can't be that much different from our animal counterparts. I'm not saying that its the only explanation, but I would like to know if anyone knows something that would back that up. Thank you.

My 6 year old daughter needs some dental work. She went for a check up today and she needs to have a tooth extracted and one tooth needs a filling. They said when she has the work done they will give her a mild sedative - I think it's like a juice she drinks. She will not be asleep - more "out of it". And they will restrain her with a "papoose board". I will not be allowed in the room with her. Has anyone experienced this before? I am terrified for her!! Do any dentists put 6 year olds to sleep or is it too dangerous?

I am a few weeks away from having my last 6 front upper teeth removed for a full upper immediate denture to be put in. All my other teeth were pulled about 5 weeks ago, and my gums are healed. I am scared and concerned, as I am only 32, attractive, and work in the public eye constantly. My worries are about talking, eating, smiling and looking like my old self, and if many people will notice that I now have dentures from how I smile, talk and eat. I am looking for help from people who have exprience with situations like mine, both good and bad with an "immediate" denture. I would prefer other womens opinions on this, men may not have the same concerns about looks and "detection" of dentures in someone so young to have false teeth. I am asking this question for the 2nd time, as my other question was not responded to with the information I wanted/needed. I do have a wonderful fiance who's being very supportive thru-out all this as well. Please HELP!! Thanks. Pam

What will the discomfort be like..Well I have complications swallowing because I have a bad gag reflex...How horrible is it to have dentures? Or how bad is to get them made? I had two teeth ground down numbers 2 and 4 in preperation for a bridge which last friday. In any case, my mouth is killing me and the pain has now radiated to my lower teeth. I have been taking tylenol or motrin during the day and tylenol pm at night. today the pain in the lower is fairly bad and I don't feel as much pain in the upper where the work was done. I have had dental pain in the past...but this is the longest it has lasted. I notice as I get older the pain lasts longer each time. even cleanings hurt!

The worst things that scare me in this world is IV and Dentists. not a good combo. I told that to my dentist, as I need to get a few teeth removed and he will have to cut into the gum for one that had just recently broke apart. He gave me Valium pills to take before coming so I am relaxed and wont freak out. Because I have the valium, do I still need iv?

What has been your experience, what symptoms did you have, and how have you treated it, etc?

I'm 22 years old and was recently diagnosed with a severe TMJ disorder. I never really noticed it until it got really bad because I thought the symptoms I'd been having were normal as I've been living with the disorder my whole life. But now it's going from bad to worse and want to do something about it! I'm starting on a treatment plan that will include wearing soft splints, then an orthotic, then maybe eventually some sort of surgery. It will be combined with chiropractic care to help with associated upper back (rhomboid) pain.

Any advice or stories would be greatly appreciated.
