My brother in law has rotting teeth and said that if he don't get them all pulled and get dentures that the dentist gave him six months to live! Can you die if your teeth aren't pulled?? I thought this sounded crazy but wanted to check thanks!!

I went to the dentist today for my routine 6 month check up, I go every 6 months without fail and in my whole life I've only had 1 filling, when I was 16. I'm now 23 years old.

Anyway, today when I went it was a different dentist to the one I usually see and he did the examination and told me I had 5 cavities!!!!! I was totally shocked, I mean I had a check up 6 months ago and the dentist said my teeth were fine - how could I develop 5 cavities in 6 months??? I asked the dentist if he could show me them, so he used a camera and took photos to show me 3 which are very obvious on the top, then showed me 2 others on my x-rays.

But how could I possibly have developed 5 cavities in 6 months?? Was the previous dentist just missing them? Or did they really all form in 6 months? If so, how can I stop it from happening again? I brush twice a day, floss fairly regularly and don't eat all that much sugar compared to my friends.

My sons 6 year molars have come through with cavities in them. I've made an appointment for him to see the dentist next month but he's absolutely devastated and very upset about the prospect of needing fillings - his older sister had fillings recently and told him he'll need them too.

What caused his teeth to come in with cavities in them? And is there anything we can do to prevent his other permanent teeth doing the same?

Just to start with, I was a dental nurse for 6 years and never saw this.

Also, I have impeccable oral hygiene, I'm 24 and have never had a cavity.

But yesterday I was reading and felt something on my tongue. It felt a bit like a really fine onion skin or something sitting there, so I scratched it off. It was some white stuff. I thought it must have been something I ate. Then it happened again, and again so I went to look in the mirror and saw that the white stuff was all over my tongue.

The white stuff was the skin covering my tongue and when I looked at the rest of my mouth, it was the same. I peeled it all off (like peeling off sunburned skin) and it wasn't sore or anything.

I haven't seen this before and I haven't eaten anything hot or spicy in the last few days, but I am pregnant. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And why?

I heard many people say by brushing everyday will eventually make your teeth white, but I don't get to see the results...

Are there any ways that can help?

may I ask what was the circumstances that caused you to be able to get them. Was it covered by your insurance? How was the whole process. I have peridontal disease and want to get my teeth pulled and just have false teeth. I am in constant pain. Any advice is appreciated.

I been using colgate total "whitening paste" for about 2 years. Tried paste and gel, seems as if my teeth has been the same color for the longest time. Even the whitening gum from trident or dentyne ice doesnt work at all does it ?. I think i been jipped and brain washed by these products that i havn't thought about it until now that it doesnt work.

My mom has regular cleanings and yet her gums are constantly swollen and darkish-red. She is using PreviDent rinse, flossing and brushing daily. She has no health problem and her bloodworks are okay. What could be the problem and how can it be fixed?

I had a terrible toothache today, so I looked in the mirror and found that one of my wisdom tooth at the extreme back of my upper jaw is almost half gone. If I dont get it removed, let it rot ( m really scared of going to the dentist), will the decaying spread to my other adjacent tooth as well? will the decaying be spreadin to all my teeth? I m a chocoholic.I eat too much of sweets and cakes and pastries.Just wanna know whether my entire set of teeth would start rotting if I dont get the bad one out soon?
