If you are having any problems like that then you should call the dentist office that preformed the extraction and ask them about it...you dont want a huge infection in your mouth and all of your teeth to fall out now do you?

Okay!! Not to criticize any of the other answers but I am a surgery assistant for a dentist and assist on extractions every day. First if you have gotten food in the extraction site and it was causing an infection you would be having alot of pain about now. By two weeks there has been some healing already done, but if there is still an open site you can irrigate the site with a plastic syringe. I give these to all my surgery patients along with an antibacterial mouth rinse. You can check at a pharmacy but you might have to get this from a dentist. I would not worry too much about the site healing over with the food inside though. Hope this helps.

No. Take the medicine prescribed just like it says. The antibiotics need to be fully in your system to work. I would wait and drink another day after all my antibiotics are all gone. You will defeat the purpose in the first place, and may have to start all over again if you mess up. I would wait. I had all 4 molar's taken out 3 at one time, and the pain and the infections are no joke. I stuck to my routine of meds to get it over and done with safely. Be safe.

Your gums should be healed. I had that happen and all I did was brake the end of a toothe pick and I kind of shreaded the end of it to make it into a brush so to speak and swashed inside the cavity. That's the Hillbilly way to do it. Just like everyone is saying though-check with your dentist. He probably won't even charge you. His assistant might even help. They have a high pressure waterpick and it should flush it out. In the office then out. Call them first.

Have you tried toothpicks? Bent-out paper clips? If it heals over it then the food will hurt a lot until it gets taken out. A dentist could take it out, and you can also ask for dental implants (fake individual teeth) while you're there.
Well, that's all I've got.

Try chewing gum.
If that doesn't work your dentist can dig it out.
If you can't afford another trip to the dentist maybe you or someone else can dig it out.
sterilize a sewing needle and use the back end not the point.

Did your doctor give you a surrenge? They usually do, and you fill it with water (HOT WATER) and then usually it will come out and if that does not work get one of those tooth pick things except they are metal but they really do look like a tooth pick well you can get those and if you pick at it a little it will come out (it doesn't hurt) I have braces and it works like a charm for me!
