Well first off, the pain isn't too bad if you keep up on your meds. If they say take a pill every four hours...DO IT. Nothin worse than not taking your pills on time and then have to wait for them to kick in. Your mouth is gonna be tender for a couple of weeks, but it gets better. Don't know how to deal with the gag reflex cause i haven't had a problem with it. Getting them made, they will take impressions of your teeth before they are pulled if you are getting immediate dentures. They put a gel like substance in basically mouth guards and put them in your mouth to size up your mouth. Dentures can be a pain if they aren't made right, and some people just can't deal with them. I had all 32 teeth pulled also about 6 months ago, and so far, its not too bad. I have kept a positive outlook on things, realizing that these aren't my real teeth, and they won't be the same. I've become so accustom to them, i forget to take them out at night cause i forget i'm wearing them still. I can eat just about everything except for like corn on the cob and apples, but that will come in time. Everything else is fair game. I would have to say my biggest complaint is having food get stuck on the dentures(like bread, chocolate) but just go wash them off when your done eating. Just keep a positive outlook and things will go a little easier. Good luck

They will give you plenty of medication for pain, in the hospital and for the time at home, you can be sure of that.
I don't know how old you are, or what you do for a job, but you will be without any teeth for at least 4-8 weeks. I am having the balance of my 6 front teeth extracted very soon and an immediate full uppper denture put in right after, so I don't have to go toothless at all. It takes time for the gums to heal and receede from the swelling. I work in the public eye in a business, and couldn't take that much time off, and my vanity would never let me go around with out any upper teeth....it's bad enough now with just my remaining 6 teeth, I'm constantly keeping my mouth shut, and try not to smile too much. But, by doing it the way you will, your dentures will fit better than mine right from the start, you won't need a reline 3 or so months after the fact. Good Luck to you.

I'm not sure but i wouldn't mind having all my teeth removed for dentures, i knew a man who did, he said he felt a ton better after wards, its a bit awkward to eat till the dentures are done, but he is happy with it.

I think you will experience pain, but I am sure they will keep you medicated. As far as dentures, I am not sure, but as long as they are good quality you should get along fine. My dad keeps his in, and doesn't have to use the teeth adhesive. Good luck.

Your face will be swollen for about 5 days and it will be very hard to talk. Once that is over it will get easier.
