Very normal for the tooth to be very tender for 24-48 hours. If it doesn't get better, call the dentist and let him know. If you are in that much pain, call the dental office and there should be a way to get a hold of someone over the holiday weekend. Don't call tonight though...it's too late. good luck

Im a dental assistant. i comprehend that root canals are noticeably extreme priced or perhaps after the basis canal you'll desire a crown on the enamel. Root canals aren't any more 100% effectual so there is consistently a danger you'll finally end up loosing the enamel. once you're in a great number of discomfort on the instantaneous all you may want to do is take ibuprofen. Orajel is truly like a topical anesthetic and could numb the gums yet when it became operating with your toothache by utilizing all potential save utilizing it. Getting a enamel pulled is much more not pricey and also you're able to stumble on a dentist which will do this at a extra less costly value thinking a root canal is so extreme priced. i comprehend that sounds scary besides the undeniable fact that it receives you out of discomfort. The dentist will numb you up too so that you wont sense the technique. enable me comprehend if this answer works. once you've any extra questions sense free to ask me. desire I helped. and strong success!!!

I've had a few root canals and none of them have hurt very much afterward. Don't eat on that side of your mouth for certain. Do not even close your teeth together. Leave that side of your mouth alone for a few days on top of taking motrin. That is the most I would suggest. If it is still hurting this bad tomorrow even after taking motrin, then go back to your dentist. Perhaps he missed some of the damage inside the tooth. If the nerves and rott are out of the tooth, you should be ok aside from some tenderness to the surrounding tissue.

I got one done not to long ago and it never hurt me that bad but my doctor also gave me Vicatin so I was knocked out on a high dosage of pain killers for a week. Lol. So I didn't feel anything but let your doctor/dentist know and they should prescribe something and if they won't take some advil and suck on ice. Don't chew on it though especially on that tooth.
