I have to get braces and i really want to know if they hurt!!!

when you first get them they will be uncomfortable for the inside of your lips. then really the only time they hurt is when you have to get them tightened and depending on how much they tighten them it could hurt for a couple days until the next round.

When u first get your braces on they will not hurt. That part is painless. It just feels a little akward because you have a mouth full of appliences. A couple days later your teeth will feel a little sour and it would be wise to eat soft foods like bananas or pudding. After that it won't feel like you have anything in your mouth. Sometimes you might even 4 get you have them! I know from experience! Over all braces can be a fun fact of life.....you get to pick you colors and trust me there are a LOT to choose from!

Braces do hurt when you get them put on for like a week. Then, every time you get the wire changed they hurt again for the same amount of time. You also have to get used to the way they feel around your lips, to be able to close your mouth. You will also get sores on your inner lip since the brackets rub on them. At the end it will all be worth it.

They do hurt but you get used to the pain in a day or two. Then they hurt everytime you get them tightened but that pain only lasts for a few hours. Tylenol helps get over the pain.

yes, it does hurt and uncomfy in the first 2-3 days but bearable.
and don't worry just think of the rewards of having a good smile after the whole treatment.

when i first got them...i couldn't bite down for at least 3 days, any pressure at all, and it HURT, my teeth were somewhat crooked though..i don't want to scare you or psyche you into anything but trust me, rice and milkshakes will be your favorite food. Take some ibuprophen and don't forget the wax at the office to put on the brackets. i'm getting mine off on august 16th. good luck

yea when the dentist has to tighten them up every 6 months they hurt , but also they dig into your lips and sides of your cheeks too that causes cuts in ur mouth

they hurt like crazy when they're first put on and after each tightening...but after that time hhas passed (like 2-3 days) the throbbing pain subsides....
well its not really pain in the "Ouch that Hurt!" way....its pretty intense pressure on your teeth and jaw. but as i said ... it subsides after a few days

my frendz who have or had braces said thay do @ first but u get usd 2 them after a few weeks but i dont need them so i dont kno but yor probaly be ok

i hate to tell u but yes they hurt like anything!!! its just like having a lot of pressure on ur teeth..... just dont move ur mouth for a few days once u get them on or get them tightened or it will only get worse.
