If you keep on having the same tooth filled will that tooth eventually have to be taken out?

If that filling falls out (how often will that happen, if at all) will it have to keep on being refilled. Then,could it be drilled so many times that that tooth will become worthless and have to be taken out?

What kind of filling, silver or plastic(White)? The reasons that a filling fall out are numerous. Yes, it can be a possibility that the dentist is at fault, maybe some of the decay was missed, decay wont hold a filling. If it is plastic, sometimes the bonding got wet during the procedure. Did it hurt when you bit down before it fell out? That would mean the dentist left the filling too big. Worst case scenerio, you have a crack in the tooth, and will need a root canal and crown. Most likely you will not lose the tooth.

If you keep having the same tooth filled......you NEED a new dentist. That shouldn't happen and yes you will eventually need it pulled.

It's rare that a filling falls out. If it does, you probably have an additional cavity. Before you get to the point of extraction, your dentist will probably recommend a root canal and crown.

why would u have to keep having the same tooth filled? did the dentist not do it right to begin with?... if not, then it is a thing you need to ask your dentist.

I wouldn't worry about it until u need to. Our teeth can only take so much. I'm thankful for technology because there are so many new ways of making dental procedures not so scarey.
