Why don't you call the doctor that took them out and ask him.

I think that is normal though, I have 3 done at the same time and it took awhile for the areas to recover.

didn't the dentist tell you to swish your mouth with warm salt water to help with the healing??? It kills infection. It's going to take more than a week, so be gentle with the inside of your mouth a little while longer...... Avoid acidic foods (citrus fruits, etc.)

Yes, it's a bad sign.
The root may have been wrapped around the nerve, and removing it may have caused nerve damage. You may have numbness the rest of your life. (sorry, that's no consolation).

You need to let you dentist know, if they didn't remove your roots then you may have dry socket, I can't remember if they remove them or not when they pull those teeth.
