I'm getting an endo-vaginal (and pelvic for that matter) ultrasound to get my ovaries checked out. I've had one pelvic exam in the past, and it was done by my doctor, who's female. My question is, is it uncomfortable with male doctors? I didn't get a chance to ask if I could have a woman when I made my appointment, and I just want to make sure that I won't end up feeling really uncomfortable.

My friend was diagnosed with it last month. It seemed to last a few weeks with treatment. Nowadays, they tend to get a bit dizzy or light-headed once in a while. Is that normal?

I have heard that honey that is unfiltered and raw (not processed) has been used in treating allergies to pollen. I don't know what kind of pollen but I imagine most tree, grass and weeds. I read an article that said to take a couple of teaspoons a day before the allergy season starts and it would help in improving your symptoms.

Kevlar is the stuff used to make bullet proof vest. My husband and I were at a tradeshow and some people were there with this type of insert that goes into your shoes according to your shoe size. The piece isn't covering the WHOLE insole, just the heel area and they claim that they "align" your body back into it's right position when your wear them in your shoes. They are pretty pricey for a pair of them but when they did the demo on us they seem to really help, and are supposedly lifetime guarenteed. Does ANYONE know what I'm talking about???

I burned myslef probably 4 hours ago on my hand from taking a skillet out of the oven and the pot holderbeing too low... I held on to the skillet for probably 5 seconds because i didn't want to drop it... I think it is a second degree burn... should it still be burning very bad right now... Especially if I put aloe on it and blow it, it doesn't hurt very bad until the aloe dries and then it starts burning again like I just took the skillet off of it... I'm wondering what I can do now because it's on my hand about where it bends and I do almost everything with this hand.. What can I do to stop the pain?

I am in my early twenties, constantly getting vaginal infections, am irritated and red every day of my life, missing periods, and intercourse with my fiance is impossible because my skin is so thin it rips. My gyno says there is no doubt i am seriously lacking estrogen- but he does not believe in perscribing hormones due to endometrial cancer risk. All i can do is take birth control pills and premarin topical cream. This is not enough, because i only am getting minor releif. I am planning on marriage soon, and hoping to start a family in the next few years. Will having low estrogen now pose a problem for when i want to conceive? How can i even have a sexual relationship with my husband if i am always so sore? Is it really that dangerous to take estrogen? or should i find a doctor who can perscribe it for me? I don't want the risk of cancer, but I'd like to be able to live a normal life. If i were given hormones for treatment would i have to take it forever, or temporarily? Help!

Ok I 5'7" 220lbs. I've had gynecomastia for a very long time. My weight goes up and down throughout the year mainly because I get depressed and think that I will never get rid of my "man boobs". I've been thinner that what I currently am and the boobs won't go away. Not on drugs, never taken anything except some medicine for asthma. I'm 21 years old, way passed that puberty stage....right, so I don't want to hear it will go away with time.....because that's all I've given is time. I've started exercising more and I'm trying to eat more healthy. I just want them gone, wish I could cut them off! I don't want to have surgery just yet but if it comes to it...then I guess I have no choice.

I recently had cataract surgery and the AcrySof Toric IOL implanted in one eye. At the first checkup, my vision was:

SPH: +1.25
CYL: Nil
AXIS: Nil

Just 2 days ago, my follow up revealed the following

SPH: +1.00
CYL: -0.50
AXIS: 160

Q: During this period, I developed about -0.50 D of astigmatism. What are the chances of my Astig progressing until I'll be needing astigmatic correction in the future?

Q: I hear from my surgeon that some form of astigmatism can be beneficial for my overall vision. What qualify it as "beneficial astigmatism"?

Q: It is believed that mild level of astigmatism does not warrant correction. What range is considered as "mild"? Will my current level of astigmatism require vision correction?

Q: My concern is since my IOL is a toric lens, initial tests showed that it corrected 100% of my astigmatism. The sudden appearance of -0.50 D of Astig, may mean the IOL is rotating inside my eye, thus negating any correction by the IOL? How likely is that the case?
