Chickenpox rarely leaves any permanent scars unless the sores become badly infected or if you pick off the scabs. However, normal chickenpox can leave temporary marks on the skin that take 6 to 12 months to fade.
If you do have any scars after recovery, rub honey on them. They really do help for chicken pox scars.

As long as you don't scratch, scabs shouldn't develop, this is easier said than done though. That's about it. If you do end up scratching and get bad scabs/scars, there is a variety of creams and lotions to minimize their appearance.

Once you have chicken pox, the disease generally runs its course. You could ask your doc about taking an antiviral such as acyclovir, but it is not very effective unless taken early after onset.

Too late for you now, but encourage friends and relatives to get vaccinated .

vitamin E capsules are the best at reducing scars. break open the capsules and rub the oil on the scars and you won't notice the scarring as much.
