To hit or not to hit... that is the ? Ha ha.... I have heard the argument that point sparring teaches you to stop before actually hitting the target, which creates a very bad "muscle memory", but I feel the need to present the opposite argument... In my point sparring days.. (the way I was taught) every movement perfect technique (is the goal noones technique is perfect) and full power and full control (stopping one inch before the target) which I am incline to agree that it may cause a bad "habit"... the so called "full contact" sparring is only at 60% at best... even at that I get told to "watch the power" so wouldnt that not only create bad habits, but also inhibit the increase of speed and power? I can see both sides of the arguement, and I also know that it is not a good Idea to hit someone with everything you have with proper technique (even in a full contact fight, maybe in a real life altercation, but probably would not be required)... Would like to hear more opinions

Personally, my stuttering has improved dramatically since childhood. As a child, while trying to talk, I would stutter for maybe 15 seconds on a single word. Now, it's way better and I can almost avoid stuttering all together.

My stutter is weird because, public speaking is easier for me. I'm a rather popular person, I have tons of friends and I play sports. I stutter more when there is NO pressure to talk well. I stutter more talking to my mother or father than anyone. There's a trend-- I seem to stutter more and more, the more comfortable I get with people. It's happening with my coach (I've known him going on four years now), my girlfriend (ex now, but it started happening after 6 months) and of course my parents (my whole life, 20 years). The only exception is when first meeting someone new-- I always seem to stutter when saying my name... and only my name. People are like, "What, you don't know you're own name?!?"

Can anyone explain this?

I have big hips and I guess a big but and my pants are size 18 and the front fits perfect but the back is to big, if i go to a 20 its way to big, and a 16 is to small in back. When im standing up it's fine but when I sit down my pants go down in the back due to my big butt I guess and shows my underwear. I don't wear thongs so no worry there, just kinda annoying i have to wear baggy shirts to cover it up. using a belt hurts because there to tight for me when i sit down it pushes on my stomache.

Rude or inconsiderate comments will be reported. Thanks.

I have pain in both buttocks for more than 1 week now. I don`t know why, its just started hurting, on the cheeks. Its definatly not damaged tailbone, there is no pain there, its all on the muscles. It hurts and is not getting better. What do i have? Should i see my doctor and get a referral to see a physio? Could a physio help with this?

I would like to see how the parents out there view the love that they have for their children? And because we are all somebody's child- I would like to know what kind of love you grew up with and how do you feel it effected your life or your capacity to show love to your children or significant other or even reciprocate the love back to your parents. Please don't offer jokes and stupid remarks that are only going to waste the page. I would like to have only serious replies.

OK, I work out five times a week M-F and sometimes on the weekends. This is my routine:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday:

Elliptical: 3.5-5 mph, heart rate between 140-170, for 40 minutes.
Weights for 10-15 minutes

Tuesday/Thursday:

Stationary bike: 40 minutes, level 5, heart rate 115-130
Weights for 10-15 minutes

I'm going to change it up soon by doing every week day with the elliptical and weights, because my heart rate is a bit slower while on the stationary bike (even though I am at the "target heart rate" that the machines say I need to be at). I figure I'll do the elliptical for a while until I reach a plateau then change it up with changing the cardio machines.

Now, the machines say my target heart rate is between 117-123, but I just don't feel like I've worked out or sweated enough. Which is why I'm going to have my heart rate between 140-170.

Here are my stats:

Age: 33
Sex: Female
Weight: 180 (lost two pounds between 9/1 and 9/13 YAY)
Target weight: 140ish.

....and I'm at the end of my rope.

I have our son 4-5 days a week and he has him 2-3 days a week ("joint" custody), and he decided to stop giving him his medication without discussing it with me. He told our son he was out of pills, but I think he was just too damn lazy to call the pharmacy to reorder them.

Then he said that he doesn't need them because he hasn't seen any problems out of him - well duh - HE'S BEEN ON MEDICATION UP UNTIL NOW!!!

So now my son comes to my house, has not been on his meds, refuses to take them b/c his dad said he doesn't have to anymore, and begins the bipolar cycle again. He started the nasty attitude this morning so I'm on pins and needles and scared that we're in for another roller coaster ride.

What do I do? I need help calming down & collecting thoughts before I confront his father this afternoon.

I went for my first pap smear recently and found it scary and traumatic. I wanted to ask other women if they found it the same. I had a male doctor but there was a nurse present. I had to strip and put on a gown. First I had my breasts checked but then the worst bit! I had to lie down and she put my feet in loops and hooked them up on poles at the end of the bed so my legs were way up in the air and spread. I hated it as I couldnot close my legs and was just left there spread open. The doctor then pushed a metal instrument inside and stretched me open which hurt (I am a virgin). Afterwards he inserted his fingers inside me and also up in my butt. I felt really embarassed and violated as I had my legs spread wide open. Is this normal?
