I have a doctors appointment today at 10. What should I expect? Also, I don't THINK its actually inside of me, but just in case, what do you think the doctor will do about it?

Thanks everyone! I'm nervous (but I always get nervous before going to the doctor) but this is pretty embarassing! :\

They will probably want to know how it happened. Then they will most likely put you on a steroid and possibly an ointment, tell you to avoid sex, contact, keep area as dry as possible, etc. It's embarrassing but no one has ever died from being embarrassed. Just remember how this happened and don't do it again. Good luck.

What the heck were you doing in the first place to get poison ivy there? lol Anyway, I would think a doctor would examine you in that area and give you a topical cream to take it away, maybe a shot as well to help. Keep the area clean and do as the doctor orders and you'll be ok soon.

Wow! Go with the first answer. Doctor will likely prescribe a topical ointment. The first answerer is pretty much correct. Take Care! ;-)=

Allot of good answers but I would take benedryl, it may make you tired but will fight the allergic reaction. Allot of times the Dr will give you a benedryl shot. But it will make you tired. I hope you get feeling better and be careful:)

A topical corticosteroid. Your main worry will, of course, be keeping it external. Do not soak in water, keep dry as much as possible, no intercourse, apply a topical corticosteroid/anti-itch ointment. At least thats my prediction.
