Nuts yes walnuts, pecans, almonds etc. Contains omega 3, great for the heart! Not peanuts they are not nuts but legumes from the pea family. Even these no more than about 1/4 a cup a day.

Raisins are full of sugar and therefore should only be eaten in moderation

Or are they full of fat?

There aren't any foods that are 'magically' healthy or unhealthy. That includes fats and sugars.

An unhealthy diet contains healthy foods in unhealthy proportions. Usually, that means an immense amount of some types of fat (it's a cheap ingredient) and very little of the (expensive) herbs and spices that contain most of the vitamins and minerals you need to process other nutrients properly.

The fats found in most nuts & seeds, are less harmful in large quantities than a lot of cheaper oils. And the sugars in raisins (and currants, sultanas & other dried fruit) are less harmful than processed cane sugar (the kind in the sugarbowl).

Eating more nuts & raisins, instead of white bread & fried foods, is a healthy choice.

Eating mainly nuts and raisins, instead of a varied selection of fruits and vegetables prepared with herbs and spices, is an unhealthy choice.

Nuts and raisins are perfectly good foods. Nuts do have a high fat content however it is the healthy fats that the body needs to function. Look for ones that aren't coated in sugar or salt. Raisins are dried grapes, you will need to watch which ones you buy b/c some fruit manufacturers coat dried fruit with sugar and that is not healthy. You will need to drink a lot of water with both since they are dry b/c they have to reconstitute somewhere and are likely to do so in the bowel causing cramping if you don't eat them with water. In moderation they are both fine.

Most food is good for you as part of a well balanced diet. Nuts are generally rich in vitamins - but some people are allergic to them. Dried fruit like raisins contain iron but also a lot of sugar.

There are lots of benefits to eating these but nuts can be high in fat and raisins contain natural sugars. I know diabetics are told not to eat many raisins because of theses sugars. Add them to your diet but do not eat them non stop thinking they are doing you good all the time, everything is good in moderation!

1"They are rich in nutrition but extremely high in calories. One cup of raisins is the calorie equivalent of eight cups of fresh grapes. Raisins are a good source of iron, potassium and selenium and also contain vitamin A and some vitamin B. Raisins are also rich in fiber. Raisins are beneficial for high blood pressure, fluid retention, constipation and anemia. Their high calorie content makes them an ideal snack for anyone involved in sports."

2"Nuts are high in calories, mostly from fat, but usually that fat is the monounsaturated kind that is good for us. In fact, eaten in moderation, nuts can lower your risk of heart disease and heart attack. If you buy packaged walnuts, you'll soon see a new label claim stating that eating 1.5 ounces daily, as part of a low saturated fat and low-cholesterol diet, and not resulting in increased caloric intake, may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease."

no, not particularly good for you. Peanuts especially have a very high fat content, and raisins contain a lot of natural sugar which isnt good for your teeth. I was told this when my my 3 year old would eat raisins as if they were going out of fashion, so i asked my health visitor who confirmed they are not good for the teeth.
