I have to have a mammogram and sonogram and I'm kind of freaking out. Breast cancer doesn't seem to be a problem in my family as far as I know... what other possibilities could it be and what will they have to do?

My younger brother has been saying things lately that have been worrying me. He seems to strongly believe people are watching him all the time. He thinks there are hidden cameras all around the house and he is the star of some internet tv show that he doesn't know about.
He has also threatened me before. He says he thinks I secretly want to kill him and says I'm a (quote) "threat to his existence in this house".
Does this mean he is suffering from paranoia? What should I do about this issue? Is it something I should mention to my parents?

Call me an idealistic fool, but ever since Elizabeth Edwards revealed her cancer recurrance was now "incurable", I've been confused. How can ANY cancer be called "incurable" in this day and age, where clinical trials are available everywhere? Also, what does "treatable but incurable" really mean? Will she still evetually die of her disease?

I know of folks who were told they were TERMINAL, so since they had nothing to lose, they enrolled in trials that carried some risk, but also a chance at cure. And some WERE cured! Is Elizabeth even considering enrolling in a trial? It seems she too, has nothing to lose, if her cancer truly is considered incurable by "regular" doctors (i.e. those not researching trials).

ALSO, what about Lance Armstrong? His testicular cancer metastisized to his liver, lungs and even his brain!! That basically wrote him off as DEAD -- but look at how many years he's been cancer-free!

Now you see why Elizabeth's statement doesn't make sense to me. Your thoughts?

No one has ever been able to adequately explain this to me. Anything above 60°F gets uncomfortable to me and anything beyond 80 becomes increasingly painful, yet I've heard people say they "like" it that way. Is it the same reason some people are into masochism or is it literally a pleasant sensation to them? I've never understood.

I struggle with "to do" lists. They never work for me. Also have trouble with procrastination. I'm wondering what other adult ADHDers have found to be helpful.

My 51yo wife (of 30+ years) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about a year and a half ago. She has to inject herself 3x a day. She is tired about 85% of the time. She gets hellatious mood swings. She sometimes cries at the drop of the hat.

I am really trying hard to be supportive but am not sure of just how much more abuse (abuse might be too harsh a word but that is how I sometimes feel) I can put up with.

Ever since her diabetic attack (I had to take her to the ER, her blood level was 575) she gets confused easily, has an extremely hard time staying focused, she also has a hard time paying attention.

What I want to know is this:
Is there a support group I can contact for husbands (or just family members)?

Is there anyone (hub or wife) near our ages and circumstances that I can talk to?

We don't know anyone personally that has type1 that we can talk to.

My email is cb865@comcast.net Please write me (or answer here) if you think you might be able to help.

thx

I have this friend named Trom [weird name, yeah I know he's from Europe] and he's around... maybe 5'11" even 6'0".

He weighs 110 - 112 pounds and doesn't look too much like a skeleton to me. Though I do usually see him with t-shirts on and he's got a skinny body.

Is this a normal weight for him?
He's 17 years old now, and I dunno what is healthy.

He's not a vegetarian or vegan like I am, he actually orders a lot at McDonalds! lol.

He eats a good amount and always eats pizza most of the time.
He hasn't really ever pigged-out or had cravings for food.

He does drink a lot of water and energy drinks.
He doesn't take multi-vitamins each day
and he doesn't take anything for weight management or anything.

I dunno. I just wanted to know whether I should tell him that he should gain a couple pounds or not- cause I'm not sure and best friends look out after eachother.

Help thanks?

Mairy

I keep reading and (hearing from female friends) that most men are not talkative....that is "just the way males are." well, i'm determined to find a talkative, opinionated bf/mate, lol. am I on a path to nowhere with this one? I like conversation, to converse, I'm opinionated but not a b*tch...... I'm in my mid 20s - also, why is it that men aren't supposedly talkative....
