No one has ever been able to adequately explain this to me. Anything above 60°F gets uncomfortable to me and anything beyond 80 becomes increasingly painful, yet I've heard people say they "like" it that way. Is it the same reason some people are into masochism or is it literally a pleasant sensation to them? I've never understood.

I used to live in PA and I loved the cold and hated the heat. Now, I live in Texas and love the heat. I'm cold at anything below 80 degrees. 60 degrees and below and I'm miserable. Your bodies just get accustomed to different things.

Western and Eastern Doctors will have different view points on this. I think the better answer in this case would be provided by a Tradition Chinese Medicine practitioner. These are acupuncturists, acupressure, herbalist... Depending on where you live, some may be hard to come by. I think for a 50-80 dollar consultation, they will give you exactly the answer you are looking for. Or if you could find a school nearby that teaches acupuncture, they will have a clinic there that can answer your question at a cheaper rate. These students have supervisors there to make sure they give correct and appropriate assesment.

I live in Texas where the temperature can get over 100 degrees F. I don't like it that hot but I do find it pleasant when it's around 90 degrees. I guess it's because I have acclimated to such high temperatures. I hate anything under 78 degrees. I get cold easily.

I'm just the opposite of you; anything below 60 degrees feels unbearably cold to me, and I can't stand that. (This sucks because I live in Illinois, where the summers are extremely hot, but all the other seasons of the year feel very cold to me.) I've asked people similar questions to this about how they can possibly like cold weather; it's just a matter of personal taste.

I'm with you. I'm not a fan of hot weather and humidity. It actually makes me sick. I can tolerate temperatures up to 75 degrees, but beyond that, I wilt, perspire, and get short of breath. Cold weather doesn't bother me at all. I find it very refreshing. I know most people prefer summer to any other season, but I hibernate in the air conditioning until mid-September. I Can hardly wait for cooler autumn days.
