Why is there so much effin' spam in the diet and fitness section?

This is really annoying, people ask real questions about losing weight and getting in good health and most of our answers that we get are spam! Gosh!

I know spam is not alllowed, but clearly some of these answers ARE spam, and yes, I have reported it.

Spam is not allowed on this site. Read the rules. If you suspect spam, then report it. I don't think people mean to violate the rules, and are probably trying to be helpful by referring you to advertising websites. But the purpose of Yahoo answers is to give advice based on knowledge or experience, and not to advertise products. Heaven knows we get enough of that on line, in snail mail, on the phone, on TV, and everywhere we go.
