I have suffered from anxiety and depressive episodes since I was 18, been on and off the meds, and am now back on them after a relapse at christmas. I am 22 and a graduate in Bsc Psychology and have never really known what I want to do as a career, until recently I started thinking as I am quite passionate about mental/emotional disorders as I suffer from them myself, maybe I could pursue a career in counselling and help others get back to being happy and stronger. My only real concern is whether I will be a strong enough person to cope with all the problems I will confront or if my anxiety will get the better of me and I will be dragged down too. I know I want to help others with similar problems to myself,but although this means I can feel great empathy towards others, I worry I might not be able to handle it, but then maybe if I have had proper counselling training I will?dilemna! any advice, or anyone in the same situation as me please do help! cheers : )

I went to the doctor on friday to find out the results of a kidney xray. I found out that I had a kidney stone in my right and apparently I have an abnormality in the left kidney in the renal column (Bertin column or column of bertin). I realise this is probable quite a tough questions (i could not find much on the internet) but could anyone tell me:
1) what part of the kidney this is
2) what kind of issues or problems occur with this.

Thank you

my girlfriend just had a worrying experience. she got out of bed this morning and sat down. her belly began to hurt and she began to breathe hard and feel very weak. She was covered in sweat and suddenly lost her vision. She felt like she was about to faint and like she couldn't move. We think she was in this state for around 10 minutes until she could again move.

We are quite worried that this might be indicating inminent and serious health issues. Anyone know what these symptons are???

I have been sick all year and my doctor recently suggested that it might be diabetes. Here are some of my symptoms:
*I go to the toilet a LOT
* Always tired even after a good nights sleep
* have recently fainted twice in 3 days
* Feel sick after eating
* headaches
Could someone tell me if these are the symptoms of diabetes and what type?
I am a teenage girl.
Thanks :)

I heard about this process, where I would wear a patch over my lazy eye for 2hrs. a day, and that in three months, maybe even a yr., my blurred vision and lens dislocation will adjust to a more normal state.
I am 21, so I was wondering if it's still safe to do this. This is usually recommended for children who are diagnosed cross eyed early on. I think at one point I became lazy eyed, after a fight I had. But with this vision therapy I may be able to get my brain cells to learn how to work with my clear eye as well.

Only respond if you know about this process, no dumb remarks.

My Dad was found on the floor of his home a week ago and he had urinated on himself and couldn't get up to get help. He's gone from a independent guy who's very short tempered and always on the go to a child like state with limited memory and mobility. The doctors say he had a major stroke aswell as full blown diabetes. He just sleeps and doesn't remember alot of things that he should. He acts and talks like a child and says things that make no sense. They want to put him in a rehabilitation center. I can't comprehend how this happened to him and why he's like this now. The same thing happened to my mom bu hers being a lil more serious having to have brain surgery and somehow she's as she was before except for her left leg having poor circulation. The doctors don't explain much. He doesn't remember much. I ask alot but don't accomplish much. Can I help him? Will he regain what's forgotten? He's 54 partied like a rockstar has a 28 yr old GF . Now talks to stuffed toys.

If her blood pressure was low (about 60/35 or so) and she was having a heart attack and they refused to give her pain medication when she begged for it and to die (I am assuming it was dangerous to give her) and then they gave it to her (dilantin and maybe morphine), my doctor said this would make her blood pressure go even lower.

Would this have caused her body systems to shut down, cause many hours of unresponsiveness or unconsciousness or even going brain dead.

Was it the results of the pain meds or the low blood pressure or something else.

Trying to understand..the doctor came in after she died and said she had multiple body system failures and wrote heart attack as cause of death, but we think it was them giving her the pain medicine..

what happens when your blood pressure drops so low?

Would Canada give cheap services to a non-citizen? Still would be cheaper than America. Has anyone done this before or thought of doing it if they broke an arm or something. I would.

my current doctor has had a heart attack and is now in ICU and its not looking good, usually when you want to change doctors you have to get your current doctor to give your new doctor all your files and record but how would I do that when he’s in hospital? and what happens if he dies?

he has a stand in doctor for when he’s not available, will he sort out all the files?? (I don’t want that quack of a stand in to be my doctor!!)
and what if I need to talk to my doctor about something now, who do I go to ?

cheers!
