my girlfriend just had a worrying experience. she got out of bed this morning and sat down. her belly began to hurt and she began to breathe hard and feel very weak. She was covered in sweat and suddenly lost her vision. She felt like she was about to faint and like she couldn't move. We think she was in this state for around 10 minutes until she could again move.

We are quite worried that this might be indicating inminent and serious health issues. Anyone know what these symptons are???

i would get her checked out at the hospital or doctors immediately. there are a few things it could be but each one only covers some of the symptoms. the vision loss is the most worrying as it can indicate pressure on the optic nerve either through fluid build up, blood pressure shooting up or a lump or bloodclot. the symptoms could also be associated with a condition in pregnancy called eclampsia which can be life threatening. possibly a gallstone, in fact alot of things but it could be serious so please do get her checked out immediately. i hope i haven't worried you but it has to be checked out, god bless!!!

It could be anything from a virus to a neurologial condition, but because of the belly pains it sounds like it could be viral. Keep an eye on her the next couple of days, noting any episodes or symptoms and then see a doctor as soon as possible on Tuesday, even if she has been well since this last episode. Good luck.

Please tell me you took her to the emergency room! I'm not sure what this is, but if she was in severe pain, began sweating, and experienced blindness (which I hope was temporary), that could very well be an imminent and serious health issue!
