I'm going to a resort for a week with a group of friends. I know that I'm supposed to get my period one of these days, but I'm not exactly sure when. If we go swimming, can I wear a tampon even if my period hasn't started...but to have it just in case it does while I'm in my bathing suit?

I recently dislocated my hip, my nerves are damaged etc. It actually came off the socket and they put it back in. I have had problems with my right leg and hip for a long time now.
It is painful to walk, do regular workouts but I can swim. Swimming is not painful and I was wondering how much do you have to swim to burn calories? The last thing I want to do right now with summer is pack on the weight, get out of shape and not moving my leg seems to cause trouble.
Anyone have ideas?

I'm 20 years old. I found out Friday I'm being diagnosed with MS. In two weeks we will be discussing our treatment plan. But I keep reading all these personal stories about people with MS. I read them and think "oh thats not gonna happen to me." But in the harsh reality of things.. This is my future. Will it hit me when I get my first shot of a slow down MS progression shot? Will it hit me when I'm struggling more day to day? I just hope I progress slowely and things can be normal... But I'm sure all new cases say the same thing. Everyone I love and know have high hopes that things will be normal since it's been caught early. But what if they aren't normal, I have no garantee. I worry about the strain that will be on my husband and I who have only been married .3 months and finding out this new.. What will it do to us? I'm very confused...

I say yes. Religious people like Bush are anti-science. This needless Iraq war has cost billions and medical research has had funds cut because of the war costs. Medical research has been hurt by right wingers like Bush. 1500 people die from cancer daily yet research has been delayed. Even stem cell research has been hurt by Bush. Galileo was persecuted because he proved that the world revolves around the sun and this was against religion. I will never vote for a evangelist for President because I don't want science hindered.

This is a problem and it's driving myself and my fiance crazy. We live together so naturally we sleep in the same bed and I am constantly moving around because I am itching. I take a bath every night before bed so that's not the problem. I use Vaseline intensive care lotion for sensitive skin every night. I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. I itch throughout the day but I don't notice it as bad as when I am trying to sleep. HELP?? Thanks.

The other night I had dry blood on my shoe and wiped it off with a wet paper towel. Say the blood has HIV, and I might have slightly touched the blood on the wet paper towel. Then proceeded to change my contacts without washing my hands. Would I be at serious risk?

Ok but I think my ex is really depressed, first her parents and her do not get along then her favorite aunt is getting deported and now her best friend had to go back to peru cause her student visa ran out and she doesnt think she will ever see her again. Now all she does is hang out with the wrong crowd and she says she has no idea what she is doing in life. Its hard for me cause im the best influence on her life but she just acts so strange now and im scared she might like Od on something she is only 19 so i know thats alot to deal with at young age. Should I be aggresive and step in to help her to get her life on track or should i just let her come to her senses by herself???

Its hard cause I heard depression effects judgment and makes u not want to hang with people ur close to and i think thats why me and her dont talk as much and stuff anymore.

I really really want to quit smoking. I am an addict. One of my greatest obstacles/triggers driving/riding in the car. It was my demise in my last attempt to quit smoking. I thought i could just not do it in the car as well. If anybody has any suggestions maybe more than bubblegum or suckers lol. I will try anything. If somebody who quit or knows someone who quit and has some insight on this or other triggers I would much appreciate it. Thanks
