My boyfriend was out in the sun yesterday afternoon and when applying aftersun last night he noticed some lumps appearing on his arms, they disappeared overnight but have came up today again, as he is a gardener he has been working out in the sun all day. Is this prickly heat or something else?

Prickly heat can form bullae (water or serum filled blisters) or a rash. These subside when the skin is cooler and re-emerge when the skin is hot. There are many remedies OTC that are effective, but you might try a simple vinegar solution...one part vinegar to ten parts of water, and baby talc, especially around the groin or arm pits may prevent the discomfort.
