Meningitis is the inflammation of the protective membranes covering the central nervous system, known collectively as the meninges. not every one has meningitis but they do have the meninges. I've had meningitis it's not pleasant severe head aches sickness and paralysis. I was in hospital for 2 and a half weeks then off work for 2 months.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and NO this is not true it is a virus, if you had this in your system you would be very ill. The only virus that is stored in the brain is the chicken pox virus and it may come out in adult life as shingles Who ever told you that must have brain damage themselves

Meningitis can be caused by a variety of bacteria, viruses and parasites.

One of the nastiest is a bacterium called meningococcus. It only rarely causes meningitis, but many people (not quite everybody!) carry this bug in their nose and throat without symptoms.

No one really knows why this bug sometimes causes serious disease, but is also carried without harm by many people.

I'm not really sure what you are asking. But no, everybody does not have meningitis.
