I am purposely avoiding using the word "depression" because I don't think being diagnosed and "put on meds" is the answer for me.

About six months ago one of my dearest cousins died in a paragliding accident. I had to stop seeing my therapist, because she felt I should be in couples therapy with my husband, and she knew he would not want to pay for both. He always complained about the cost of my therapist, and about the chore of submitting her invoices to our health ins. for reimbursement. We only went to couples therapy once b/cos he complained about the trouble & cost of getting a babysitter so that we could go, as well as the time he felt he could be spending "getting things done".

Now another dear cousin has died unexpectedly and I'm not dealing well. I feel lonely even when I'm with people, and lately I'm avoiding social events because I feel like sleeping. I hug my kids a lot and keep smiling at work, I'm working out when I can, but I need to get out of this funk...

And money doesn't count because you can get research and gov't grants and gov't loans for this sort of thing.

When I was younger I would get obsessed over a lot of things, mostly about death and I can't shake it. It had seemed as though everything was fine for the past 8-9 years other than thinking a LOT about bad events and worrying about them. Everytime I think about one, I go online, which I enjoy and it takes my mind away from it for a couple of minutes. For the past month I can not stop the feeling that I have a particular serious disease. I have had blood work done and everything is fine but I keep having night sweats (a symptom) and I'm losing weight (another symptom)...but I'm not eating and its hot in my apartment. I keep looking at my skin for changes constantly. I don't know what is going on...I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong... I have had many opinions. They all say I'm healthy. What is this? I don't do this frequently, so it's not like I'm a hypochondriac. For the past month though I don't worry about death, just disease...a plus! Anyone else have this?

I want someone who is very through in their cleanings, uses scaling tools (not ultrasound devices), and is passionate about wanting gum and teeth health for their patients, scraping off that tartar-even to the point of going beneath the gum-line in a regular cleaning. I had a hygienist like that loved her-but she retired and since then I have been very disappointed and really need a cleaning, so please help! Thanks!

Hubby is having spinal surgery Monday. Two x-stops ( fairly new procedure) are being placed along the spine, which i have seen on TV and did a lot of reading on, it has a very high rate of success. However, the compression in one area is to severe for this so he is have a Laminectomy. So many people that we meet say" don't have it unless you absolutely have to" Or "it did not help that much" or "i am worse now" .At this point , he has days he can not stand up straight and is living on pain meds. The doctors asst says that it can take up to 6 mos in some people for recovery. He will need a walker and a back brace post op. I would like some imput from those of you who have had this done. How long were you in the hospital? How was the pain following the surgery? Did it work as well as you hoped it would. Any bits of info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
p.s. he is 54 years old.

I have an extreme case of hormone imbalance, I have hair on my face back, and breast. I used to be very attractive, I was voted most attractive in high skool,Now,I gained 60-75 pounds in 3 years,& I'm very hairy. i don't take the time to invest in my looks because I feel what does it matter, I have a beard I can only wear t-shirts 2 my neck (chest hair) I no longer care about what I dress like. When we get in public, for an example we were in a crowded elevator, and my aunt said, 'Oh lord, u look so nasty today. Fix ur hair!" and my younger sister said 'Fat and Nasty" The ppl in the elevator just giggle, I said nothing. I practice daily grooming habits, I bath twice a day, but I don't see the need in dressing nice (t-shirts and sweats) or doing my hair (ponytails)
If u would have seen me when i was 13-17 I was gorgeous. I've gained so much weight and I have polycystic ovaries, so Ive got tons of hair everywhere and I've lost my hourglass figure. How can I make myself love myself again?
