can brain tumours disappear or shrink without rhyme or reason? without any form of treatment? can a miracle like that happen?

Yes, it has been known to happen but, I wouldn't bank on it.
Also, it's not a miracle. Spontaneous remissions can and do occur. Cancer cells are continuously mutating. Perhaps a mutation lead to the remission.
