I am no vegetarin. Who me? Noooo way I love meat. Especially nice bacon sandwiches. Smokey bacon is my favourite and smokes salmon. But isn't it kind of cruel to make them smoke? Do they smoke ciagettes or do they train them to hold a pipe?

Always baffled me that one.

i have researched many reasons why i can understand for health reasons or some may just simply not like meat. i am confused on the animal rights issue though. I have seen and watche the peta vid on mass producing farms it makes me sick.

for example i live in germany and here we still have the old farming methods and the animals are taken well care of and killed properly.

however i am an american born and raised i am fully aware that our meat is mass produced but there are famers markets and what not to purchace meat its a lil moore expensive but u know the animal was well taken care of before and its healther meat.

A friend recommended them and I wanted to ask before buying it. It's a frozen food brand made of organic and nutritious foods for vegetarians and such. Or can anyone recommend any other vegetarian food brands? Also, has anyone here tried vegetarian hot dogs and hamburgers? If so, how do they taste?

If so, do you enjoy it? I mean, do you feel any better. I've been thinking about becoming one but i'm not sure exactly how it will effect me.

I am a vegetarian... I think. I don't eat any meat. I only eat some fish like tuna, sardines and salmon once in a while. I heard a lot of stuff about the dangers of mercury in tuna. but If I decide to go vegan, where would I get Omega-3 from? Thanks.

Vegetarians (including me) often argue that killing animals is a horrendous sin and one should have mercy on said animals and adopt the green way of life, but look at the theory from this point of view- plants are also living beings and they are killed for our food, aren't they? And what about all those Insects and Rodents that we kill without a second thought?
And many so-called vegetarian foods like Cheese and Yogurt contain millions of bacterias that are killed in our stomachs.
What's the whole point in being vegetarian?

I want to avoid deep frying in oils. Is there a way to cook Vegetable Manchurian or Gobi Manchurian (Indian version of chinese cusine) without deep-frying.

Possibly, some way of making the batter stick to the cooked cauliflower florettes and having it breaded?

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have been vegetarian for a while now. I have decided to stay away from most cheese because I do not want to ingest pepsin or rennet. My friend and her boyrfriend were going to the Olive Garden and I told them to bring me back some salad. I totally forgot that they usually put cheese on the salad as well.
When they brought me the salad, I thought about the cheese and decided to "eat" it later, and put it into the friedge.
My friend was confused because she thought I would have already started eating it. I felt like I had to eat it because she had bought it for me with her own money and I would make her feel bad if I didn't eat it. So I did, and then felt like throwing up afterwards because I felt like I had just ate animal. Does this mean that i have to start time over? I don't think I should, but opinions?

Here's the skinny: was physically unable to breastfeed when I gave birth, I researched some formula options quickly (assumed I would be able to breastfeed and the boy was hungry!) and have stuck with it.

He's now one year old, and eats a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, mashed up beans, etc, with small amounts of meat and dairy. I barely eat meat and don't tolerate dairy well myself. I'm considering a vegan diet for us, and I have loads of dietary information available for adults.

My big question is this: what to give the boy to drink? Now would be the "traditional" time to get off the formula and switch to whole cow's milk. The idea sickens me. I couldn't give him milk, formula was bad enough but I had no time for choices, I don't want to give the honor of milk to some cow.

I know babies need lots of healthy fats and calcium - supposedly provided by a big fat cup of milk. I don't want to do it. Do babies really NEED milk? Any advice/sources appreciated.

so i'm a veggie... i've been so since New Years [if figured it was as good as time as any to start]. and before i became so, Taco Bell was one of my favorite places to eat. and i haven't eaten there since. but my question is: meat or soy? i've heard people say both. i'm not talking about the chicken or steak... i mean what's in the soft "beef" tacos. please give me a good answer, and your source, if you can...
