im vegetarian. some peolpe at my school don't like the fact that i am vegetarian. so, today when they tried to make fun of me , i told them that i wasn't vegetarian. right thing to do? i don't want to lie but, i don't want to be made fun of.serious answers only please and thank you.;-)

Do what you have to do to get through the day.
Although this may seem like a bit of a cop out - not really.
The people who are teasing you do not seem like the sort of people that are going to appreciate you sitting them down and going over the finer points of your choice.
Some battles in life are worth fighting tooth and nail for - some principals need to be explained to the ignorant, but if you are just going to be beating your head on a brick wall - no one is going to get hurt but you.
Stay true to yourself.
It is beyond me what on earth there is to make fun of in you being a vegetarian? Could it be that you are a thinking, caring human being who has made a stand ? I can see that would indeed upset some morons to whom a thought is an alien prospect.
We all don't have to jump up on the cross to prove that we have ideals - you can be just as defiant - quietly!
Good luck to you - start believing that you have the right to be different - it shows who are the sheep and who are the shepherds! And to mix my metaphores - it is better to live a day as a tiger than a year as a lamb.

Try to start up a vegetarian club at your school, then you can make new friends and stick up for each other.
I was too always arrogant to be bothered by others poking fun, so I wouldn't lie if mocked.
You were just manipulating them to leave you alone, I don't consider that to be unethical.

You didn't do anything wrong, You only lied so you wouldn't be made fun of, there is nothing wrong with that... no one wants to be made fun of.
But sometimes, if you are a target to these losers, then they will just find something else to make fun of you for, this is just what those kind of people do.
You should just learn to ignore them... I know that is not very good advice, but it does help in alot of situations to just ignore them. Be proud of who you are. And just think of all the meat rotting in their intestines :)

my sister is a vegetarian and shes proud. U shouldent be afraid to show what u believe in .. Now a days it pretty cool to have ur own opinion on things stand up for veggies!

If you made the decision to be a vegetarian, you made it without others, and your decision made at an uninfluenced time needs to carry you through a difficult moment. You chose it for a reason, if the reason hasn't changed, neither should your conclusions.

saying you weren't a vegetarian was the easy way out, but it's okay... i understand that it can be hard to stand up for your beliefs sometimes, especially when being ridiculed.
hold your head up high and be strong. if they continue to bully you, either ignore them [since they're being flat out ignorant anyway] or report them to school authority [even if that makes you seem like a "rat"]. let whatever they tell you go in one ear and out the other.
