1.) I've heard a lot of different things about the ratio of protein, fats, and carbohydrates a vegan is supposed to eat on the internet.

Which one is correct (I need sources)

- High carbohydrates, low protein, low fat
- Low carbohydrates, high protein

2.) If on a label it says that the food has been:
"manufactured on equipement that was used to produce products that contained wheat, milk, eggs, etc" or "in a plant that manufactures products with eggs and milk" then the product is a definite "don't eat" right?

3.) What do I eat if I get hungry throughout the day that won't cause weight gain?

Just curious. I am considering becoming vegan. I'm just starting to cut out foods. I cannot do it all at once but I think it's great for the environment and our health.

Raw foods can be expensive if that's all one eats. If anyone has maintained this lifestyle without spending hundreds of dollars each month, please share your tips. I had to literally juice half a bag of oranges to get 1 glass of juice. Can you imagine with all the other foods?

Honestly, I'm just curious, because I've heard that the calves don't actually need all the milk their mothers (the cows) produce. I don't know if this is true or not. As far as I know, it is true that for producing extra milk, BST and other hormones are injected into cows, causing them pain, and I don't like this practice so I refrain from dairy unless its organic. I've recently given up on refined sugar bc I know its not good for you, but I felt bad because I bought these (otherwise vegan) fruit grain bars that had honey in them. I read somewhere that bees need to visit thousands of flowers for one drop of honey to be produced from the pollen, and that shocked/surprised me. Of course I'd be sad if people cut down trees and destroyed bee hives to get at the honey, but if we don't get it, I guess the bears would get it all? Where would all that honey go?
Btw, I'm not suggesting that everyone become a vegan, I think people are free to choose their own diet and not judge others for their

If someone you know wants to become a vegetarian, but isn't sure how or when or whether they can do it, how do you convince them?

I know about the whole animal rights thing.

In addition, what do you say to people when they ask you why you're a vegetarian? I can't get them to shut up/stop criticizing!!!!

I just learned my husband has high cholesterol. Not good. He swears he won't eat tofu. I know that isn't the end all to help his health. But it sounds like a challenge to me, HA HA HA! He'll eat a quail egg rapped in bacon, but not tofu! lol.
Any ideas that will pass by the dectectors on my hubby and kids?

Thank you!
