The idea that you get calcium out of yogurt is lie. The idea that you get intestinal flora out of yogurt is also a lie.
It's true that you can get fermented foods with live culture. But those are found in healthier food stores. Not Safeway or Walmart.
Things like Yoplait and Danon often contain more sugar than a can of soda. But the media tells you it's good for you. People believe them and buy TONS of the stuff.
People give their kids yogurt because they believe it's "healthier" than ice cream. Most often it contains twice as much sugar.
Sugar kills your body's ability to know when it is full. So sugar leads to overeating.
PS: Yogurt does NOT help with weight loss. That too is a lie. You'll notice that commercials no longer SAY that yogurt helps you lose weight because the Physican's Committee for Responsible Medicine successfully sued the dairy industry over this lie.

I dont understand all the fuss about yoghurt, I used to like it, but now I'm a vegan. Even though I didnt do it for that reason, my stomach is finally "at peace" since I quit diary products. And I havent been sick for a very loooong time.

I like yogurt and all but it's never helped me with a yeast or urinary infection. I have a horrible reaction to antibiotics and eating more yogurt has never helped in the least.

The cultures in yogurt can prevent yeast infections, especially if you're taking antibiotics. The calcium is also good for your bones.

i used to get urinay tract infections alot, so i had to take antibiotics alot. my doctor told me that when you take antibiotics it kills all bacteria in your body even good ones and to eat yogurt to help get the good ones back and it did. i havent had one for a long time.
