Human beings do not need to eat meat in order to maintain good health because they can get all of their food from meatless subtances. a vegetarian is as healthy as a diet containing meat.
how far do you agree with this opinion?

Who have just decided they want to be a vegetarian without learning any facts about it? There are all these questions on here from people wanting to be vegetarian and they just want someone else to give them a full meal plan including recipes-or questions and answers from people who say they are vegetarian but still believe you have to takes supplements, or that children somehow REQUIRE meat to eat healthily. These are the people who eat all wrong and get unhealthy and give all vegetarians a bad reputation! I'm not even a full vegetarian-I still eat fish and dairy and yet I know better than that!

I am going vegan and I'm wondering how to make sure that I don't gain weight. (I gained a decent amount going vegetarian)
I've heard that you can divide up meals so that you have just fruit in the morning, starch for lunch, and protein for dinner (order doesn't matter)
I've also heard that eating too many carbohydrates is the main reason for gaining weight when you're vegetarian or vegan. But if I ever got hungry and ate apples (5-6, excluding any that I would have for breakfast) throughout the day could I gain weight off of that since apples are simple carbohydrates?
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make sure that I lose the extra weight that I gained and stop from gaining anymore??
Or what is a good way to arrange food during the day? Or is there?

They are still growing and need their entire nutritions to stay in good health. Why do parents take that most important part of health away, the kids are not fully grown yet?

Can someone answer this? Expanding my education area....Thanks!

I'm not saying that everyone I talk to is angry. I recently became a vegetarian, and some people are just downright angry. I became a vegetarian for the following reasons:

1) Animals are kept and slaughtered in completely inhumane and disturbing conditions.
2) Health. I believe most cancer comes from all the horomones and antibiotics and all that other crap animals are fed.

On one hand though, I commend people who keep their own animals in great environments, let them live long lives, and make them unconscious before slaughtering them, which is something slaughterhouses typically DO NOT DO.

But I get so many people thinking I'm a total nutjob for not eating meat. Has anyone ever gotten angry at you? What do you say to people who take it so personally?

1) would becoming a vegitarian be a good way to diet?
2) if you don't have eggs, meat, or milk how do u get ur daily protein, iron, zinc? (other than eating almonds and peanuts....ack)
3) to make bread products you have to use eggs...so do u just avoid all bread products?

I just got the new Veg News magazine. I was SHOCKED by the tiny snippet that Unilever is adding or attempting to add genetically engineered fish to it's frozen dessert products.

I bought some veggie (all vegetable, no fish) sushi today but there were just too many for me to eat at once. So, since there's no fish involved, would it be fine for me to eat the rest tomorrow afternoon? (Kept in the fridge of course)

I'm a vegetarian and I do feel guilty for eating eggs and dairy sometimes, but I like eggs so much I can't stop eating it. I'm like addicted to it, I've been eating one egg a day since I was 11. Does anyone know a decent place to bring eggs from, like farms that do not hurt their animals or something? I think I'm rambling and there's no such thing right? lol
is there anyone else in my situation? I mean want to go vegan but can't? and feel they are not real vegetarians...like there's something missing?

“It is also misleading to think that the foods grown and given to feed livestock could be diverted to feed humans. The fact is that over two-thirds of the feed fed to animals consists of substances that are either undesirable or completely unsuited for human food.” (Byrnes).
