You wouldnt ask this question if you understood ethics of eating.
Let me ask you this:
Would you eat a human corpse if someone paid you 1 000 000 $? Or even more? Do you have a price for that? What if the corpse was actually a friend or family?
That is exactly how I feel about eating dead animals. I wouldnt do it for all the money in the world. Your question is an insult to every ethical vegetarian and vegan.
I didnt become a vegan for a selfish reason, so I wouldn't stop for a selfish reason either. You can't put a price on a principle- At least not on mine.

$500 - it would be gone in a second. Wouldn't even pay my insurance premium.
As a donation it isn't much. I wouldn't eat the steak for 500.
I used to laugh at people doing crazy things for $50,000 on "Fear Factor." I am pretty sure I wouldn't for that amount either.
But up the price to something significant, so I could make a worthy donation (and pocket some for myself, I mean honestly) and I would certainly eat the steak for the money.
How much that is, I couldn't say. But it would be significantly more that $50,000 dollars.
A rounded off million would be enough to start the animal sanctuary I've wanted to start, I would certainly eat a steak to fulfill that ambition.
Cristy, I too am in grad school, near the end, but I will be sure to do that.
I'm sorry but people think about the question. The steak is cooked and sitting right there in front of you. Yes, you are feeling ill looking at it, but how much good would the money do? If it were a million and either you eat it and donate the money to a good cause, or the next person eats it and uses the money to live decadently, which would you prefer.
Knowing I did something good for many animals in the future would be enough for me to:
1. pay homage to the animal that died already.
2. forgive myself for this one indiscretion.
Yes, I would probably be sick soon after completion, maybe even prior to completion, but I would do it for a million.

If my will to be veggie ebbs away on it's own, then I may aswell. It'd have to be independent of the money that I made the decision to start eating meat again. Probably isn't going to happen, since it's so hard to think of a good reason to start eating those animal guys again. Looks like I'm stuck with my principles...
I operate in £s anyway... ; )

Some things are worth more than money, kid. My principles and good karma are two of them.
And, toph - in the future, if you plan on setting up that animal sanctuary, hit me up for a donation. Maybe I'll be out of grad school by then and rich enough to send you a bit.

Nah..taht would make me like those losers on "fear factor" that eat bull testicles. It reminds me of that episode of South park where Jesus calls Kenny a prostitute because he would eat fecal matter for money and entertainment. The money would just make me want to eat it even less.

I don't have a price. My vegetarianism does not have a price, thank you.
If there was something special attached to me eating it, (like helping the hungry, the homeless, the animals {irony at its finest there!}, then I may consider it. It would have to be a darn good cause!

No, I have no price. I made a commitment to not eat dead animals, and I am sticking to it. Money plays too big of a role in life, and people are too easily swayed by it. I am perfectly capable of earning a decent living, without compromising my beliefs.
