I need non-slip shoes for work. The only shoes I have been able to find with a non-slip botton are leather. Any ideas on where to find an animal friendly version?

So, I'm a college kid, just working my way through the next few years at a grocery store. I'm a cashier and I've been a vegetarian for about 2 years. I feel like I seem really bias and weird when thinking these things, but maybe some others agree with me. If you're a meat eater, I really don't want to hear complaints. It's just a simple observation. Sometimes I feel like meat eaters are a lot meaner than people who just stop in to buy soy milk and bread. I know it sounds ridiculous, but when a customer argues with me, it's always about meat. Bloody, disgusting meat. They seem to lick their lips every time it's near them. Sometimes a package will break open and I will get blood all over my arms, it makes me so angry and they don't see what the problem is. All they want is their meat, regardless of whether or not I was traumatized by the blood spillage. Sometimes they remind me of the staff from the simpsons on that episode where they eat their students. Double chins, sweaty, & drooling

I am a 26-year-old female who is very seriously considering going the "Vegan route" in the near future. Here's the problem: I am a peritoneal dialysis patient. (For those of you who are not familiar with the medical term/disease, I suffer from kidney failure and have to use a glucose-based solution to filter toxins from my body.) As a P.D. patient, my diet MUST consist of high protein, low phosphorus, and potassium rich foods. Could anyone suggest some possible menu items I could eat that with satisfy my dietary requirements? Any response you could provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ever since i went from vegetarian to vegan a couple of days ago, i received a sudden influx of arguments and "concerns" from neighboring friends. all of them tell me the same thing:
"don't you want to be healthy?"
"we were meant to eat meat."
"for every animal you don't eat, i'll eat twice as much."
"don't you have to take pills?"
"just eat a little once in a while."
"what you're doing doesn't change that fact that. animals will still die and be eaten every day."
"they aren't equal to us."

and things like that. really, it stresses me out and i need to ask how you guys deal with these kind of questions? i've been vegetarian since circa 6th grade, which is now around 3 years. some friends even tell me i won't last long being vegan, that i'll start eating meat again..

I'm a vegetarian living in a house full of carnivores. My mom usually fixes meals that are filled with meat, but she doesnt tell me this before hand. do you have and quick non-tofu substitutes for the protein I'm missing?

ie the top part...like if you scalded dairy milk and peeled off the top "skin" and dry it? I found some tofu/seitan turkey recipes that use it on top for an analog turkey "skin"...

We don't push our meat diets on them. They try to humanize animals when even God accepted animal sacrifice and Jesus ate meat. Meat is good for us if eaten properly. Animals are not wooly humans or little humans who go moo.

1) Have any of you found good soy yogurts? I would like a list of the ones that are good--and not good! i tried o'soy from stonyfields and found it very gross, though i like soy milk. i would like info on this and other possible yogurt substitutes, please.

2) i have found that (i know, it's gross, sorry) being vegan leads to flatulence. do any vegans have tips on avoiding this (such as foods to eat/not eat/etc.)? thanks a lot.

I am a vegan. I don't eat anything from animals... When they make parties all they make is meat meat meat and more meat, and that makes me fell left out since they know that Im a vegan. I don't want to impose food on them and make them eat something that they won't like.... and I think its rude to eat something different from what your guests are eating...what do you suggest? Thank you!

I am a vegetarian and I constantly hear about people being veggie or vegan just because they hear its a hot thing in hollywood. My brother lives in LA and always tells me that he knows a load of vegetarians that do it because its a trend but they always cheat and eat meat or they cant follow through with it. Sometimes when I tell people I'm a vegetarian, they look at me as a follower because it seems like a trend, when I'm actually doing it to be a leader and I have to be very headstrong and brush off all the insults I get for being vegetarian. Anyone else feel the same way?
