When you buy a veggie burger or veggie pizza, what is your impact on the meat industry? Does it decrease due to the competition from vegetarian fast food? Or does the increased profit (due to your purchase of fast food) help the company buy even more meat?

I was trying to state that cheese HAS meat in it. That is what rennet is. Animal rennet is the stomach lining of a calf. That is why I was so upset when I thought I was doing well, because by eating cheese I was actually eating meat also.

There are some brands that make microbial rennet cheese that is okay for vegetarians.
Thoughts?

Several years ago, when I decided to become a vegetarian, I thought I was doing well until I found out that I should not have been eating cheese because most cheese-makers use animal rennet in their cheese.

I have found several cheese products that contain microbial rennet, which is okay to eat, but some fast food places won't guarentee where their rennet originates.

Why aren't people more aware of this? It really irks me that fast food places will call something "vegetarian" when it has cheese in it.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

I have been a vegetarian for several years now, and I enjoy it, but sometimes I just want to be like a normal person and make a sandwich to take to work for lunch! I don't like tomatos and cucumbers, and don't eat cheese, so I don't have any ideas.

Has anyone tried any lunch-meat style tofu that is actually any good? Any other ideas? I haven't had any luck.

I am trying to perfect a stir fry. I use brown rice, topped with mixed veggies and cubed tofu. I am unsure about the spices. I usually use sesame oil/olive oil with onions and garlic. I think it still needs more. Can I add ginger to this? Also, how do you buy and prepare fresh ginger?

Do you eat almonds just whole, with the skin on them and everything? Or do you have to peel them first?

I was enjoying a pulled pork rib sandwich last week during my lunch break on the construction site. One of the building inspectors who was checking my work is a vegetarian. She needed to go over some building codes with me but refused to speak to me while I was still holding my sandwich. I asked her if it really bothered her that much and she said, "I have morals and I choose not to eat dead animals".

Is it just me or does this lady have a bad attitude? Was it right for her to make that remark to me?

But veggie guys only dig veggie chicks. Omnivorous chicks only go for omnivorous guys.

Why don't veggie women like veggie men? I can't fathom it. Is it something like "he's just as good as me, there's no fun in it"

I am not a big fan. I mean, and let's be honest here, it's kind of a big production without a lot of payoff. I like my salad just thrown into the bowl.
