Just Curious?
Alot of vegans and vegitarians say that being so has nothing to do with animal rights and its a lifestyle and health choice. But then eat things like tofurkey, veggie roast, tofu burgers and tofu bacon, take vitimin suppliments, veggie chocolate mousse, etc. From what I have heard tofu by itself is pretty bland, so they must put some type of chemical in it to make it taste like these meat products. When I was 6 I learned about the 4 basic food groups and a balanced diet, and since adulthood have adhered to said diet plan. I don't eat sweets and excersise daily, I am rarely ill and am as fit as a butchers dog, yet you read many questions on this site and in other vegitarian research, about people with dietary problems and malnutrition since becoming veggie. Not everyone I'm sure, but enough to raise my eyebrow. So how does eating chemicals and lab produced suppliments equate to more healthy than the real thing? No need to be derogatory, it's just a simple question.

Hi, I just thought I would post an article from World Nut Daily to make you all laugh for the holidays.

-There's a slow poison out there that's severely damaging our children and threatening to tear apart our culture. The ironic part is, it's a "health food," one of our most popular.
Now, I'm a health-food guy, a fanatic who seldom allows anything into his kitchen unless it's organic. I state my bias here just so you'll know I'm not anti-health food.

The dangerous food I'm speaking of is soy. Soybean products are feminizing, and they're all over the place. You can hardly escape them anymore.

have nothing against an occasional soy snack. Soy is nutritious and contains lots of good things. Unfortunately, when you eat or drink a lot of soy stuff, you're also getting substantial quantities of estrogens.

If a cow HAS to be milked everyday because it produces 16-20 litres of milk a day and can only hold a few litresin it's udders at a time, why won't vegans drink it? If the cow wasn't milked it would get infections in it's udders too. So milking a cow is good for it, shouldn't vegans approve of it?

I would like to become an ovolactovegetarian starting on New Year's Day. I have done my research but it is always good to have tips from real people. Any ideas on how I can easily get the vitamins and proteins originally obtained from meat? Thank you.

I'm trying to become vegetarian, mostly for health reasons, I'm starting with being semi-veg and gradually cutting back. Anyway, I have a few questions: I know that things like French fries have animal fats in them , in some restaurants: am I allowed to eat those? How about butter? Does fish count as a meat? How do I still get my proteins? Is this an ok diet for a teenager? What restaurants offer plenty of veggie solutions? Thanks so much for helping me. I really am pretty clueless...

My father was talking to me about this the other day. I asked him "Daddy how do you feel when you put the lobsters inside the hot boiling water and watch them die" He said "Honey, its food. Think about this if the seacatchers never caught any fishes, lobsters, crabs, shrimps, mussels, clams etc you couldnt even go to the beach and put your feet in the water there would be so many things in there, some vegetarians dont know that if we didnt kill the animals like pigs there would be to many left. Now im sorry that we are killing the poor animals but what other purpose did god (or whoever made the world) put animals like pigs, cows, and chickens on the earth. For them to be around humans and play? Cows dont like to be around humans so what other reason is there to keep them here." Do you agree or disagree?

With all due respect here, just because you refuse to eat animals does not mean that people will stop slaughtering them and McDonald's will stop serving Big Macs.
