Technically speaking, It's veg. Because there is no life in the egg it's yet to be formed. But many vegetarians avoid it, may be just because of this ambiguity .

Eggs are animal products obviously. So they are not a vegetarian food even though alot of people feel they are.
My sister who is a self-proclaimed carnivore said she will not eat eggs of any kind because she had a fluke bad experience with them once which is a very extreme case that could be used in argument as to why they are not vegetarian/vegan.

Eggs we buy in the store are not fertilized. They cannot form embryos. Therefore, they fall in the same category as milk - animal products that did not arise from killing an animal (the hen or cow weren't killed, and an unfertilized egg is already 'dead').
But there are issues of cruelty involved with eggs and dairy. This is why vegans avoid them.

An egg from a grocery store is an unfertilized one that came from a chickens vagina, so to me it sounds like a chickens period. A womens menstration is an unfertlized egg coming out so that is exactly what you are eating when you have a tasty scrambler. It is animal protein no matter how you look at it!
