Start eating some meals without milk and eggs and gradually cut out all milk and egg products, rather than omitting them all at once. I'm in the process of becoming vegan and I've found it much easier to concentrate on a few vegan meals at a time until I'm more familar with different dishes. This gives you more confidence to go the full way and be vegan because you're already familiar with vcooking without cheese or eggs. Look into substitute foods such as vegan cheeses and egg replacers. It's best not to rely too much on processed food though. Look at some recipe books and learn how to cook delicious meals using beans, lentils, grains, fruit and veg. You'll be a much healthier and creative cook believe me! Good luck.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time cooking.
I would suggest making things on the weekend or when you have days off from work. I have found that has been the biggest challenge.
Also, it is very easy to get wrapped up in buying food that is prepared and ready but, in the end if you make it yourself it will have a better nutritional value.
Buy cook books that offer a variety of foods.
Make sure the content of the foods that your a preparing have a balanced nutritional value.
People use to tell me all the time that I needed more "Meat". Especially my parents but, I felt the best when I changed my diet to even just being a vegetarian. So a vegan diet is great because you'll feel good and no one gets hurt.

I think it is a very good idea. No, animals will not overload. We need some more any way. I think a lot more people should become vegetarian because i think it is a lot better for the environment. It helps Mother Nature and all the poor animals that are being killed every year. On the other hand you could eat meat once in a while. Although try not eating red meat. You could possibly eat turkey or chicken.

Yes, eliminate your meat products slowly. For example, if you are used to eating eggs, cheeses, milk products, meats, etc, you can't just stop cold turkey. I tried doing this once and I got headaches, zits and felt crabby. Take one item, and eliminate at a time. Take a week between elimination to allow your body to adjust to the changes, and good luck.
PS If you falter, and you might, don't feel guilty and beat yourself up. It's normal.

yay! :). well just remember that cheese is usually not veggie if it uses rennet so that was enough to put me off cheese. milk is cruel to cows because it means they have constantly been force to be pregnant so just think of it as not wanting to support that. its just as bad as ..puppy mills. as for eggs, the chickens are in such bad conditions, that supporting that only helps the problem. be part of the change.
