Meat tastes great. We humans get meat eating incisor teeth not just vegetable chewing teeth. Vegetarian food is fine and I can cook it and eat it, but I wouldn't like to make it a habit! I eat a lot of vegetarian dishes, but not exclusively.

There's only so much "cheatin chicken" a person can eat.
I was vegan for 5 years, for health reasons and what strikes me is the obsession of vegetarians and vegans to eat things that look like meat and taste kinda like meat.
If you are all so against meat and dairy why don't you get over trying to find a real tasting vegetarian sausage, or an egg and dairy free mayonnaise.
You made the decision to be vegan so why eat stuff inspired by real meat, you know, the stuff you used to love but now pretend to hate.
Meat is good and people should be free to eat whatever they want.
We have food in abundance here while people in other countries starve to death.
You should just feel grateful that you have the choice to decide what food you will reject or accept each day.

I agree that veggie dishes can be delicious, there are many alternatives to meat. but they are not the same.
from a culinary stand point, the mix of flavors that creates a masterpiece is not restricted by a diet. there are some chemicals that vegetables do not contain and it is therefore impossible to obtain the SAME flavors from vegetables alone.
from an evolution stand point, humans are omnivores, we have teeth to eat both animals and plants. so we also have developed a taste for meat that can cause cravings.
I like the vegetarian attitude and morals, however I do not think that the taste of a veggie dish is a strong enough influence to make a person vegetarian, you must have a moral objection to meat as well

I agree-if you think about it, meat only tastes as good as the seasonings it is cooked with. Chicken cooked without salt and pepper would be very boring indeed. If you take veggies and season them well, and cook them creatively, they will taste better than meat. My daughter prefers battered mushrooms and okra over chicken nuggets any day. A grilled portabello mushroom on the bbq is great as a "burger". I cant see why something has to die just to feed a greedy appetite. I am giving you a star!

In the final analysis, there are two amino acids required for optimum health in the Human that can only be provided by meat or fish - they cannot be assimilated in the body from vegetable protein.
I cook and eat numerous vegetable/pulse only meals, particularly dishes originating from the Punjab, in India, and they often beat meat for taste, particularly when one refers to fast-food chain burgers or inferior supermarket meat.
My rule for eating is (for main meals)
One day fish
One day red meat
One day white meat
Four days, vegetables or pulses.
Finally, all my meat comes from a butcher, not a wholesale supplier - his chicken, duck etc is free-range and his red meat is hung for a long time, and largely comes from an abbatoir that I have visited. If conscience prevents you from eating meat, then so be it, but chefs these days are instructed in nutrition, and it would be against my conscience to influence anyone towards a purely vegetarian diet.

Talk to me when you can actually get any sort of vegetarian meal to taste like a T-bone off of the grill.

Ask them "Would it be wrong for someone to set dogs on fire because they got pleasure from setting it on fire?"Just because they got pleasure out of setting the dog on fire doesn't justify them burning the dog. It's no diffrenet than with meat.Just because you like the taste doesn't justify it.

I agree. They are also healthy for you and cholesterol free!
And to the guy who said "is mothers milk vegan?" Vegans don't eat animal products, are you calling your mum an animal? And since when did people slaughter their parent to get milk? So it has nothing to do with meat.

I think if people had to actually slaughter animals for food a lot of them wouldn't. Milk is for baby animals we are not babies and do not need this . eggs are chicken's periods so not really nice when you think of it. we have plenty of other things we could eat. Animals have no other choice but to eat meat as they are not intelligent enough to know otherwise. we are. Animals should be respected.

I am a vegetarian but i don't enforce my views on others.
I think people should be more educated on where their food comes from so we can abolish battery farming, but you can't tell people they are wrong to eat meat. It's natural. We are privileged to have the choice and have such a variety of food to choose from that we can be healthy vegetarians.
