I am on my way in a little bit to buy some wheat germ. Can anyone tell me if you can taste it? I found a really good smoothie recipe, that contains wheat germ but will it tast any different. Also, how good of a fiber source is wheat germ and what other sources are there?

wheat germ can have a flavour, but it's very mild and will not have much effect on your smoothie's taste.

Well, we certainly don't want our food to taste too healthy! Some people like the taste of wheat germ, although it may be an acquired taste. How about trying whole wheat bread crumbs?

I used to work in a flour mill and tried wheat germ right out of the mill and found no taste to it.

No taste to it from my experience. It does change the thickness of your smoothie though.
