I've barbecued it in a crock pot before, but does anyone have anything better?

I am looking for a "tried & true" dessert recipe for the upcoming holiday parties. I admit that I am not a great cook (or likely even a good one) so I prefer a recipe that is not too difficult AND will get a good review.
Can anyone help???

This is the recipe I used last year, for Orange Cappuccino Drop cookies The cookies tasted good but were way to cake like in consistency for my liking.
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup strong coffee
3oz unsweetened chocolate
1tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
Are there any easy substitutions or deletions that would change the firmness of this cookie?

And can you bake several potatoes at a time? If so, will it take longer?

And, could you bake it in a microwave oven?

I can handle the starter and the sides, but I have no idea how to stuff a turkey... I want a very simple dinner (7ish people) and 1 vergetarian, but I make a kick *** nut roast so I'm sorted with that.

All turkey recipies I've seen are so complicated. I have a small oven and have no idea what size turkey (is it easier just to get a chicken, even though its less Christmassy?) and don't want to faff about when I'm supposed to be having a good time!

Recipies and cooking times would be lovely. Thanks (*and merry christmas to everyone who helps out!

I'm cooking the roast for 6 hours in a crock pot. When can I add my baby carrots so they will be tender but not over cooked.

I went out to eat at a few semi-nice restraunts recently, and as one of the given vegetable sides, I received more than once a long thick stemmed dark green vegetable with small green "flowers" at the top. It was similar to the green "flowers" on top of broccoli, but very sparse, loose, longer, and much softer. The thickness of the stem was about the size of a sharpie marker or a fat pen, and similar to the size and shape of asparagus stem. The consistency of the vegetable was also similar to asparagus. The stem is smooth, and the entire vegetable is one color (dark green). They were about 6-8 inches long each.

What is this delicious side-dish??

Thanks!

I am on a green pepper and onion with chicken kick lately, but we live so far out in the country that if I buy enough to last a week or so it goes bad before I can eat it. It's a long way back to the store. Wish I could find a farmers market out here.

I've heard a couple of different people say that they like to make popcorn using 'the wok method'. Does anyone know what this is? Can anyone give me instructions?

I'm short on cash and was thinking about making choco chip, peanut butter, and sugar cookies to give to my coworkers. I will probably give them each 4 of each kind of cookie, making it a dozen, and a card. Does that seem ok? Do you like to receive baked goods from non-family?
Also, what's a nice way to wrap/package the cookies? I can't find any of those Christmas tins anywhere, I've looked. So, what else?
Thanks!
