This recipe has always been a hit for me and for my Mom. She has used it for get-togethers of friends as well as groups at the hospital where she goes for rehab. The men especially scarf it down but the women love it too.

CRAB MOLD

1 can cream of mushroom soup - undiluted
2 (3 oz) pkgs cream cheese
1 pkg Knox Gelatin (unflavored)
1/4 c cold water
1/2 c green onion - chopped fine
1/2 c celery - chopped fine
1 can crab meat
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 tsp curry (optl)

Heat and mix the condensed soup and cream cheese on low heat. Dissolve the gelatin in the 1/4 c cold water. Remove the mushroom-cheese mixture from the burner and add the gelatin. Add the green onion, celery, crab meat, mayonnaise and curry (optl). Mix together and pour into a mold and chill.

Remove from old and serve with Ritz crackers or Waverly Wafers.

(Every time I served it, the people would spoon it onto their plates like a salad instead of a dip - they liked it that much.) If someone doesn't ask for the recipe, I'll be surprised.

Try a roasted beet and goat cheese salad (served at room temperature). If you don't have time to roast the beets, then use the whole canned variety. Drain well and toss with a mixture of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh ground pepper, and kosher salt. Add pieces of goat cheese and garnish with flat leaf parsley for an elegant alternative to the vege tray.

This is nice cheese fondue I make

1 cup white wine
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
7 ounces Gruyere cheese, cubed
7 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, cubed
7 ounces Emmentaler cheese, cubed
DIRECTIONS
Bring the wine to a boil in a small saucepan.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Whisk in the flour, and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid sticking and burning.
Once the flour is cooked, stir the wine into the flour mixture slowly. Use a whisk to smooth the mixture. Slowly add cubes of Gruyere, Cheddar, and Emmentaler cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Transfer cheese mixture to fondue pot. Keep warm over low flame.

How about stuffed mushrooms? This one is from Taste of Home. If you're not crazy about this recipe, they have a zillion more!

Have fun at the party!

take a dip and vegetables or crackers.
you can always take salsa and tortia chips.
try to keep it simple and just kinda be creative with whatever you choose to make.
