I've heard a couple of different people say that they like to make popcorn using 'the wok method'. Does anyone know what this is? Can anyone give me instructions?

My taiwanese parents love doing it the wok method cause they can control the popcorn by swirling the wok and tossing the kernels with a wrist toss. I think its a excuse to donkey around with the food but I think its the same thing as the microwave or the instant popcorn popper.

You could cook the popcorn in a wok but you will need a lid for it or you'll have popcorn all over the kitchen. You could cook it the same way you would in a pot - drizzle some oil into the wok - just enough to coat where the popcorn will be, swirl it around, add the popcorn, swirl again, and cover and cook, shaking constantly, until the popping starts to subside. Make sure your heat isn't too hot or you'll burn the popcorn.

Not much different than using a skillet. Except a wok is bulkier and harder to handle.
