I was about to make pizza dough, and I mixed my yeast with some water and sugar to proof it. But I got interrupted before mixing the ingredients -- the yeast/water/sugar has been sitting at room temp for a couple of hours. Can I still use it, or should I go out and get more yeast?

some people I know use boilded potatoes and then fry them
Other people slice them right into the pan.
Some fry with onions..some dont.
WHat is the BEST way.
(prefer people from the south..they are better cooks :)

I made my first pesto sauce today and it came out really good--just a bit strong with the pepper (oops). I didn't have enough basil, but added in spinich. I'm thinking that next time I make it, I'd use a bit less pepper, but try adding some of a fresh bell pepper. What are some variations that you use for this dish that I could possibly try?

I added water to solve the first problem, but the dip is too salty. Can I add sour cream or cream cheese? I'd add it later since it's in a slow cooker.

Pancake
```````````
1 cup maida flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 tbs sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1 egg
3/4 cup of milk
3 tbs melted butter / ghee
variation 1:
* 1/2 cup of cooked rice (+ an extra 1/2 tsp baking powder, add with with the flour)
variation 2:
* 1/2 cup of paneer / cottage cheese (+ an extra 1/2 tsp of baking powder, add with the flour)
directions
* in medium-sized bowl put flour, baking powder, sugar, salt / mix well
* in a smaller bowl mix the egg + milk
* pour the egg-milk into the flour, make smooth batter
* add the melted butter
* leave it plain if you are making plain pancakes and if you are adding rice or paneer / cottage cheese add it now
* leave the batter for half an hour
** heat a skillet, put little oil, make small pancakes of 1/4 cup of batter for each, leave enough room between each
** keep the ones you finish on a warm plate in a 200*F oven or on a plate over a pan of hot water (not on stove), cover with a towel
