I've read that it better to use LONG GRAINED CONVERTED RICE or MUNUTE RICE.

I have ENRICHED LONG GRAIN RICE.
Will that work for a crock pot recipe?

I just made oven fry (fake shake and bake) chicken tenders and cooked them at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. They were not real thick pieces. After I ate about two pieces I started noticing a spicy/ sort of zesty taste in my mouth. I was wondering if it was a possiblity of the chicken being spoiled? I believe the chicken fry was original flavored. Thanks.

I have a recipe for chicken lo mein but the sauce isn't very thick and doesn't stick to the noodles. Can I use some combination of cornstarch and water to thicken this sauce made of, 1/4 c.Asian Toasted Sesame dressing
1/2 c. chicken broth
1 Tbsp. peanut butter
and 1/4 c. soy sauce.
Going to the store to get additional ingredients other than cornstarch is not an option. Please help I am learning to cook and have no idea what I am doing! Thanks in advance!

My recipe calls for a removable bottom tart pan. I can't find one and don't have time to buy one.

I found this shallow, fluted pan... that I think is a tart pan. It doesn't have a removable bottom. It has this weird trough that goes around the edge. Looks somewhat similar to this one: http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=686979

So... for my blueberry tart... Do you think it's OK that the bottom isn't removable like the recipe says? Should I use a pie pan or the weird pan with the trough?

What is it that red and white wine add to the recepie? color, texture, seasoning??? well, I don't like to use anything alcoholic when I cook, but since so many recepies call for it (esp. italian ones) what are good non-alcoholic substitutes for red and white whine that accomplishe the same thing?

You boil the pasta till al dente then put in into a pan and put shredded cheddar cheese until it's melted?

Please tell me how? I tried searching online but they have complicated recipes with a lot of additional ingredients but I just want regular mac and cheese?

I have never cooked a meal before in my life, but now that it's the holidays and I actually have time away from school, I'd like to make something for my family. We're vegetarian so we don't eat fish or eggs or anything, but we do eat dairy products. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Restaurant baked potatoes have a crusty salted outer peel, full of flavor and the potato is uniformly soft. Mine have tough, chewy outer peels, just not the same. I have tried wiping with oil and rolling in salt, but it hasn't worked. There has to be some cooking trick that places like Applebee's, Chile's, Longhorn, etc. use to make their potatoes consistently good (it's not like they hire world-class chefs).

I'm boiling up some chopped peeled sweet potatoes in a pot of water with about 2 cups of sugar and some mandarin oranges thrown in there as well. Now I am waiting for it to boil.

I have no idea what I'm doing and need to serve this to my mom and Gran and boyfriend tonight. Help! What do I do from here to make good sweet potatoes??
