I have company coming in less than an hour. Someone told me one time to put butter in apple cider?? I used 1 gal cider to 1 pkg of mulled cider mix... should I add butter and how much?? Thanks in advance for help

I thought it would be greasy too. That is why I hesitated to add it ... Thanks all for help!!

I think the person that suggested that to you had a few too many

HOT BUTTERED RUMS.........

No, gently heat the cider (I use my crock pot for this) and then add the spiced mulled mix.......I wouldn't add liquor at this point, let the guests add whatever libation they prefer......(I prefer Cinnamon Schnapps (Goldschlager) in mine....Enjoy!!!

I've never heard of that and it seems to me that the butter would just float there all greasy and gross, even if you melted it.
I don't think I would do that.
