I bought literally dozens and dozens of cookbooks- basics and caribbean and cookiing for dummies. ( I am overwhelmed). No more space on my bookshelf! I need to learn how to cook from scratch. I live with my parents. My dad is a good cook - my mom cooks okay also. However , I want a different flavour and taste from what I have been tasting for years. I love to eat . I especially would love to learn how to cook carribbean meals from scratch. I am tired of buying lunch everyday at work. i realize : It is also cleaner and healthier to eat homemade cooked meals.

Discussion between two women at work, I've been doing it for years, never thought about it. 1 cooks 2 eggs for her child in microwave with no butter no oil nothing, the other uses a skillet using olive oil and scramble. Which one is better, and Can You Lose The Nutritional Value Of An Egg?

When I make Christmas Puddings, I usually steam them, this year I'm wondering if it makes much difference if they're cooked in the microwave. I've got one mixed up, just waiting for the family to give it a final stir and make their wishes, any advice please. Which do you prefer?

In these fast food Teriyaki Chicken Bowl place such as the one in southern californiat chain Spikes, B-Man, and others...they have this really basic high sugar style Teriyaki Sauce. I can't figure out how to make it. Any idea?

I believe the base is

Soy Sauce
Sugar
Ginger

But not sure of the portion and anything else missing. I've tried a few times and failed :(

I love ordering beef and broccolli and my husband loves chicken egg foo young. They both come in a gravy. When ever you reheat it, the gravy never melts; it stays clumpy. I don't reheat the rice. That's a lost cause.

They have them at a Chinese buffet near me.. they're small and white, with sort of rose shape/color on top. They also have a plain, round, white one with a yellow filling.. maybe pineapple? Thanks!
