Even though I know how to bake sweets perfectly, I don't know the basics of cooking meat. I know how to coordinate flavors and textures for the most part, but it would help me a lot if I knew the basic staple times too cook most cuts of different kids of meats thoroughly. Thanks so much for your help!

I am having a party and one thing I want to do that is hopefully easy and low maintenance is to buy some large fillets of salmon, wrap in foil and grill in a closed gas grill. This way I can just unwrap, and serve. no having to worry about the thing sticking on the grill. But I want it to be tasty, what else besides lemon?

I'm doing BBQ shrimp tonight in a sweet/garlic marinade. I'm serving them over rice but would like to kick up the rice so it's not completely bland. Any simple ideas? There MIGHT be some left over marinade but I don't want to bank on it. I'd like the rice to just have a subtle taste on its own.

I am interested in saving gas & money and being a bit more environmentally. I am wondering if I could save gas by just warming pre-soaked pasta. Is 9 hours enough or to much? How long should I cook it once soaked?

I have a friend that I'm going to bake brownies for on his birthday, since that's what he asked for. I was planning to decorate them, like with drawings on every brownie. But I don't know what to use to decorate them.

I'm not really on expert on baking (obviously) so I would really appreciate your suggestions :)

I often make an excellent Hollandaise sauce which calls for 3 egg yolks. I would love to take the 3 egg whites and do something useful with them. Is there a way to easily make some meringue cookies (I hate to bake oven for 40 minutes just for 5 or so cookies) - or could I save enuf, I I think I'd have 9 or so by end of month and defrost them to make (easy recipe) a REAL angel food cake? I would love that. Thanks.

I was heating up some Tobasco sauce the other day, and everyone that was in the kitchen started coughing uncontrollably. I know what it probably has something to do with, but i was looking for more of a technical answer. Any chem majors in the house?

Teen daughters are having friends to go to the Barnes and Noble Harry Potter Party for the sale of the last book. I have been looking at the HP candies but they are very expensive. I have a frog candy mold that has a cavity 2 1/8 inch by 1 1/2 inch by 3/4 inch. I would like a filling recipe for bon bons, candy bars, etc, so I can make chocolate frogs. Any other ideas for Harry Potter snacks, treats or candies that you may have. I am also making sreen print tees for them, and they are decorating a 15 passenger van with HP. All ideas are welcome! Thanks a bunch!

I need some ideas for cheap meal ideas. I have 3 children ages 3, 7, and 9. My husband has been off work for 2 weeks so we are pretty broke for a couple of paychecks. We usually eat pasta, spaghetti o's and sandwiches, etc. I need some meals for fairly cheap. I am going shopping tomorrow. Thanks!
