Try French Toast, grilled cheese sandwiches, BLTs (she'd probably need help with the bacon), Jello, boxed pudding, no-bake cookies, easy peanut butter cookies (1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 large egg--mix together, roll into balls and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet and press out with fork or bottom of glass, bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees).

pour the mixture into the bowl of krispies and mix evenly

add the fruit and nuts, distribute them evenly

pour the mixture into the rectangular dish, and make it even with the back of an oiled spoon or off-set spatula ...or even the bottom of an oiled measuring cup ... just so you can press it even

** also store them in a flat tin with pieces of waxed paper between the layers ..

notes: you may use any combination of nuts, dry or candied fruits you wish....even coconut ... or sesame seed ...or some trail mix with dried papaya, etc. ..or even fried Chinese egg noodles from Chinese take out, and mix in some toasted cashew nuts and / or toasted sesame seeds

Check out Kraftfoods.com, they have great recipies for children look under "especially for kids". I taught my 2 sons at an early age by making no bake cookies. Actually we did alot of baking in the early years cakes, cookies, pies the fun foods. Kids tend to enjoy cooking especially if there will be a "sweet" reward in the end.

EGG PIZZA FOR BREAKFAST (CHILDREN)
10 oz. can refrigerated pizza crust
8 eggs
4 oz. fully cooked turkey sausage links
1 tomato, thinly sliced and cored
1 c. shredded low-fat Mozzarella
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place crust in 10 inch pizza pan and cook for 5 minutes until lightly brown. While crust is baking, scramble eggs until moist, not dry. Spread eggs over crust. Top with cut-up sausage, tomato and cheese. Bake 5 minutes until cheese is melted. Cut into slices.

TWIN EGGS IN TOAST BASKET
Soft butter
4 slices bread
8 eggs
4 tsp. milk
Salt
Pepper
Paprika
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously spread 4 slices bread with soft butter. Press each slice buttered side down in baking dish or 4 individual baking dishes. (Custard cups.) Break 2 eggs into each bread slice. Pour 1 teaspoon milk over the eggs in each dish and sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika. Bake in 350 degree oven 15 to 20 minutes or until eggs are set. Serve carefully in the baking dishes. Or, if you like, loosen the toast around the edges with 2 forks and lift toast baskets onto platter. Makes 4 servings.

Meat filled Crescent ring:

Ingredients:
2 packages crescent rolls
1 lb. ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
shredded lettuce
chopped tomatoes
one bunch of green onions, chopped
1 diced avocado
1 cup sour cream
salsa
Method:
Brown ground beef and follow taco seasoning directions on back of package.
Add the cheese and place aside for the time being.
Unroll the two packages of crescent roll.
On a cookie sheet, place the crescent roll wedges in a circle, wide side of wedge towards the middle, pointed end towards the outside.
Place the ground beef on the crescent rolls and wrap the pointed ends of the rolls around the meat mixture, so that it forms a ring.
Bake at 375 F for approximately 12 minutes.
When baked remove from oven and place on a large platter.
On the inside of the ring place lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and avocados.
Dollop sour cream and salsa over all.
Cut into wedges and serve warm.

BAKED APPLES
One-half cooking apple per child, and for each half apple:

1 t. honey
1 T. orange juice
1 t. sunflower seeds or nuts

Wash apples, cut in half, and help children remove cores (using a melon baller is easiest). Place apples in a baking dish. Spread honey, juice, and nuts in center and over top. Bake in microwave on high for three to five minutes or until tender. Allow additional time for more than two apple halves. These may be baked at 500 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, but remember to add enough water to cover the bottom of the baking dish.

Try using brown sugar, a dot of margarine, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and several raisins in centers.

BANANA SMOOTHIE
Make up your own variations using other fruits and juices.

1 small frozen banana, cut into chunks
1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt
1/4 cup orange juice

Put all ingredients into the blender and whirl until smooth. These are
fairly thick. Add more liquid if you want them thinner. Makes 2 servings,
each having 125 calories, 213 mg calcium, 10 mg vitamin C, 7 grams protein,
and 160 mg sodium.

FRUIT JUICE POPS
1 (6 ounce) can frozen juice concentrate (100% juice)
2 cups plain yogurt
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 (5 ounce) paper cups
6 wooden sticks

Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl.
Pour the mixture into six (5 ounce) paper cups (generous 1/3 cup mixture per paper cup).
Insert a wooden stick for a handle.
Cover and freeze until firm.
NOTE: To remove a pop, hold the paper cup under tap water for a few seconds.

Yield: 6 servings
Serving size: 1 fruit juice pop

MELTED CHEESE CHEWS
For the beginning cook, these can be a successful learning experience. Everybody raves because they taste so good. You'll need:

Whole-wheat bread (for variety, use taco shells or pita pockets) Cheddar cheese, preferably lowfat, grated
Corn oil margarine

Toast the bread on one side, either under the broiler or in a toaster oven: Spread margarine on the untoasted side, and sprinkle with freshly grated cheese. Cut the bread into strips or triangles, toast until cheese is melted, and enjoy. Or try spreading peanut butter on bread or pita pockets cut in wedges. Pop into a microwave for a really quick treat.

PEANUT BUTTER POPOVERS
1 can (10) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
10 teaspoons peanut butter
10 teaspoons fruit preserves

Lay biscuits on cookie sheet.
Put 1 teaspoon peanut butter and 1 teaspoon fruit preserves on each biscuit.
Fold over each biscuit and pinch ends together tight to seal in filling.
Bake in preheated oven at 425 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
Yield: 10 servings
Serving size: 1 popover
Snack Suggestion: One peanut butter popover and 1/2 cup of milk

TIN CAN ICE CREAM
Making Tin Can Ice Cream never fails to be a special event for children. But, it is also a messy activity and one that requires extra help. A parent volunteer should be on hand the day you plan this. Since eggs should be cooked before eating, we recommend you use the following vanilla custard recipe. You need to prepare this in advance. Children can pound ice cubes in a cloth bag with a hammer to crush ice.
