I am having a party and one thing I want to do that is hopefully easy and low maintenance is to buy some large fillets of salmon, wrap in foil and grill in a closed gas grill. This way I can just unwrap, and serve. no having to worry about the thing sticking on the grill. But I want it to be tasty, what else besides lemon?

WOW some amazing suggestions, it looks like I have a whole bunch of different recipes to try!!
I had one more question - I noticed the oven baked suggestion said "400 degrees for 25 mins" - how long do I grill a two foil wrapped salmon fillets (not steaks) on a gas grill with a cover?

This is what I do, Put the salmon in the foil add Crushed garlic (you can buy it in the jars at the grocery store) spread it all over the top, put on salt and pepper and a little johns seasoning salt, place slices of butter on the top of the garlic and then add some largely sliced onions my friends Love my salmon and always ask me to make it!!
I never add lemon because I do not like the taste of it

Salmon Baked in Foil Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis
Show: Everyday Italian
4 (5 ounces each) salmon fillets
2 teaspoons olive oil plus 2 tablespoons
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tomatoes, chopped, or 1 (14-ounce) can chopped tomatoes, drained
2 chopped shallots
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Sprinkle salmon with 2 teaspoons olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir the tomatoes, shallots, 2 tablespoons of oil, lemon juice, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper in a medium bowl to blend.
Place a salmon fillet, oiled side down, atop a sheet of foil. Wrap the ends of the foil to form a spiral shape. Spoon the tomato mixture over the salmon. Fold the sides of the foil over the fish and tomato mixture, covering completely; seal the packets closed. Place the foil packet on a heavy large baking sheet. Repeat until all of the salmon have been individually wrapped in foil and placed on the baking sheet. Bake until the salmon is just cooked through, about 25 minutes. Using a large metal spatula, transfer the foil packets to plates and serve.

Beer Salmon (yes it really is good). Place salmon fillets in foil, add chopped garlic, sliced red onion and a bit of salt and pepper. Sprinkle brown sugar over the fillets. Then pour an 8 oz. can of beer. You can actually form a small aluminum pan out of the foil. Be sure to cover the top with foil as well. Cook until the salmon breaks apart easily. When I first heard this recipe I thought..YUK! But it actually is very very good. Try it.

When you cook salmon skin on, the skin will come off very easily when it is done. If you put it on the grill it would be great. Grill it skin side down first, leave it on this side for a long time. The skin will be burned, but you're not eating it anyway. Flip the fish over and it will already be almost entirely cooked. take your spatula and slip it between the fish and skin, it will slip in there very easily. Discard skin and when you feel like you have grill marks on the top side of your fish, turn it 90 degrees and make another set of grill marks (a check pattern) on the top of your fish. Brush with butter after you've taken it off the grill. Good Luck

I've used a mixture (with varying proportions) of the following: soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, orange juice (I'm not joking), lemon pepper seasoning and maybe throw in some sliced zucchinni and/or squash in with the salmon. My woman always loved it, and she's a huge fan of salmon. Good luck.

Samon is a good fish to make sweet, If you want to change things up a bit, soak it in a little salt and a cup of brown sugar. If you do not prefer to make it sweet, add a little garlic and pepper.
