Anybody have a recipe?
for a yellow or a white cake they care to share? It needs to be REALLY light as it is for a 3-dimensional duck cake for my son's first birthday and the lighter the cake is to be the better it will work in this type of mold. No boxes, I want to make it from scratch for him. Any recipes or recommendations on how to make it lighter are welcome. Even suggestions and recipes for other types are appreciated.
Thanks!

Posted same question about 15 minutes ago but it got lost in the YA! time warp :P

She's too young to work yet, and there are no culinary classes that I can find for teenagers. US and UK info a plus. I want to support her talents. Thank you kindly.

The other day I made a batch of Snickerdoodle cookies from the 1981 edition of the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book. They were getting a bit stale so my husband tryed to "refresh" a few by mircowaving them. The cookies went into the "nukker" and started to arc. We took the cookies out and restarted the "nukker", this time with now arcs. Put the cookies back in and arc-central. WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!

3 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 c ove butter
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c milk
1 tsp vanilla

rolled in
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Do you prefer cream of mushroom soup or cream or celery soup in your tuna noodle casserole? I have never made it before and need to decide what would be better.

I am cooking a big pot of 15 bean soup today. I have a ham in the frig which I know has been there for 2-3 weeks. How can I be certain if it is still good or safe to eat? It has no bad odor or coloring. When I took it out the ice box, it had a slimy surface so I washed it off thoroughly. I sliced it open down the middle and it has no bad smell. The color inside and out is the usual ham pinkish. Is there a way to tell if it might be bad without eating some first? I'm just a novice cook so thanks for any info.

In conversation with friends we got to talking about the foods we used to eat and love as kids. I was just curious as to what other people ate and loved. Share your thoughts and recipes.
