if you are doing a small amount and you put your cream butter and seasonings in and pulse real quickly it works well.but it seems to be a whole lot of trouble and clean up.i just drai my potatoes and then mash in the same pan. but then im cooking for 9 people every day. so it,s easier.

Sure, if you want to drink them. Mash by hand and just add a little milk . They will taste so much better. Then add butter and parsley.

yes.
you will want to cook them
add your butter/milk sourcream/potato water or other special ingredient after a couple of pulses.
technically they will be whipped and not mashed

yes although you'd have to boil them to get them soft then add milk salt butter and garlic to them to make mashed /whipped potatoes

Don't do it. Your potatoes will turn to glue. Best to use a food mill, a potato ricer or even your hand-mixer.
